I am 39 weeks pregnant and it is really getting to me. I did not get any morning sickness in the beginning. But now I get nauseated all the time. My stomach hurts all the time. I cant eat anything besides fruits and drinking water and juice. I have been gaining a good amount of weight since the beginning(2Ibs) every two weeks but since last week, I have lost 3Ibs. I am worried that I am not eating enough for the baby and I. I cant eat anything because every time I do I want to throw up. My stomach hurts a lot. As usual, the doctor told me that it is normal. Please rescue me and give me anything that can help. My due date is next week 12/17/2007 and I cant wait for this baby to come out.

What can I do next?

Don't worry about the weight lose. That is typical before you go into labor. With my son I lost 3lbs the day before and with my daughter I lost 4lbs 4 days before I went into labor. Don't concentrate on the weight just concentrate on being healthy.

When I was pregnant...many years ago I was had alot of nausea and my stomach felt like garbage. Somtimes it would even hurt. I used to drink a cup of fennel tea. It has a licorice taste to it. It really did calm everything down. I don't ever see it in the grocery store, but they should have it in your local health food store. Also, peanut butter and jelly was my best friend at that time. You may be feeling sick because you are not keeping your stomach full.

Hope this helps!

try going into the MOTHERHOOD stores (i think they have them in menlo and woodbridge malls, so they SHOULD have them in any other mall you may go to. they have these drops/lollipops that you just suck on like candy, and it's supposed to suppress nausea. during the beginning of my pregnancy i was nauseous and vomiting all the time (i also worked in a supermarket, so the smell of each individual person, plus everyone mixed together, and each food that was already cooked just killed me) i had these drops (supervisor refused to let me have lollipops) and they actually helped. i think the lemon, and the raspberry worked. also, if i would run out while at work, i would buy lemon, raspberry, or orange (preferably LEMON) drops in the candy isle. idk why the lemon worked so well, but it did. good luck, hope it helps.

J.,

This sounds totally normal. I got morning sickness in the beginning of my pregnancy to 4 months and it was BAD. I threw up every morning and sometimes durning the day and would get nosebleeds while I was throwing up! I also lost 7 lbs. It soundslike you gained a good amount of weight so I wouldint worry that your child is not getting enough food. I was told by my doc that some ppl get the morning sickness in the beginning, and some at the end of the pregnancy. To minimize the nausiousness try saltine crackers and mint balls ( the red and white ones). They help. Good Luck and your almost there!!!!

Don't worry about the baby, they take the nutrients before you get any so from the sounds of things the baby has grown to a healthy size. You only have one more week to suffer through. As long as you are taking your prenatal vitamin, the baby will get enough of what he/she needs! My second daughter was so large that the last 2 months of my pregancy I was miseriable! I has stomach acid over flow so EVERYTHING I ate hurt! Maloxx was my friend. They helped with morning sickness this time around too. Eat what you can & just be excited for the happiest moment of your life - it's coming soon! Good Luck!

You are completely normal and your body is getting ready to have that baby. A lot of moms lose a few pounds the few weeks before the baby arrives. You should also know that the baby eats first. They take all the nutrients they need before your body gets any. That's why we take more in or we wouldn't have the energy to carry them around for 40 weeks. You're almost there so the baby is good. I think I dropped about 5 lbs before each of my babies were born. As far as what you can eat that's different for everyone. I could only eat potatoes and my gf could only eat cottage cheese. Make sure you try to take it easy and not stress yourself out. Keep your feet up as much as possible and get your husband to rub them. You and the baby will be fine.

Are you carrying high? Is it that your stomach is squooshed, even before you eat? If fruit is going OK, How about smoothies. You could pack in a lot of nutrients without the full feeling. You could use yogurt, and/or soy for protein to keep you feeling full longer, It will help you get protein in, instead of difficult-to-digest meat. You kind have to think like you've have one of those stomach shrinking operations. Healthy food, Small portions, as often as possible. I had wicked heartburn at the end. I think acid was pushed up out of my stomach into my esophogas.
Hang in there, it'll all be worth it soon!!

you only have a few days left! and my birthday as well.
a few food thoughts - protein shakes or smoothies-you can add wheat germ to them
veggie juices as well as fruit. soups and stews- keeping it light on your tummy, but giving you both lots of nutrients.
eat several little meals all day (5 or 6)
mint tea and chamomile tea in between or whenever - soothing for digestion. a cup of tea first thing in the morning before eating works great.
all the best with your new adventure! i wonder if they send the babies home in a stocking anymore?
