I am 6 wks along and have the bug! It's lasting all day, some days vomiting others not. It doesn't go away. Any pointers on how to get relief? I can't see the doctor until next week, but I am 100% commission and have to work daily. I tried the dried toast but didn't seem to work. Any ideas that worked for you?
Try Altoids, both peppermint and ginger types; crystallized ginger (sucking is better than chewing) or ginger tea.
My third son gave me a low-grade nausea until the day he was born - only peppermint Altoids helped me through it. The ginger Altoids weren't available yet but they help me get through any other sort of nausea, so they're worth a try!

Hi,
I am a senior midwife student and what we suggest to our mom's is to eat every two hours. You need to eat something with protein, such as cheese, peanut butters and crackers, nuts etc. These types of foods will stay with you longer. The reason you feel sick is because your blood sugar is dropping. I know you are miserable. I had the same thing when I was pregnant both times. If eating every two hours does not help you can take extra vitamin B-12 or get a prescription for Zofran.
Take Care,
Lisa

Morning sickness has something to do with the baby developing and using all your B6 or B12 I don't remember which but when I was pregnant with my first I couldn't even lift my head without getting sick and it lasted all day everyday till I was 4mths pregnant, then with my next pregancy I learned about the B vitamin thing and boosted taking those and it helped. Hopefully you'll have it like me and it will be over the first trimester.

I tried all of the anti-nausea suggestions with all three of my pregnancies. Nothing worked for me. I was hospitalized for dehydration with the first and was about to be for the third when the doctor prescribed Zofran. This is a drug that is prescribed to chemotherapy patients to stop the nausea. It wasn't available when I had my first two pregnancies. Boy was it a Godsend!!!!! I would try every remedy you can and if nothing works call your doctor before your appointment. I had to go in earlier than planned because of the nausea. Good luck to you.

Honey I know exactly how you feel. I had ALL day sickness as well. I think the first 2 months all I did was lay on the couch and vomit! Someone had told me about drinking some coke before I got out of bed so I tried and it worked. Of coarse I still felt a little nauseous but I was able to walk around and do somethings. I also sucked on preggo pops half the time. You can get those at any maternity shop sometimes target carries them. I hope I was some help to you. Good Luck on your new baby!

Ah yes, morning sickness. I am a legend for having morning sickness even while touring the birthing rooms at the hospital and while in labor! You should have seen the nurses faces. My husband just laughed and said not to worry, I did that all of the time.
I would wake up every morning brush my teeth and then puke. It was funny if it wasn't so horrible.
I felt like I only wanted to eat fruit, but in reality that would also make me sick. I learned to find foods that could stay down for at least a little while. It was odd what worked.
V8 juice, grits with butter, Egg McMuffin, Special K cereal with no fat milk for breakfast. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, and spinach for lunch, but NO GRAVY!
Grilled steaks, corn, and baked potatoes for dinner.
I realized protein was easiest to keep down.
Take your prenatal vitamins with lunch. I could not handle them in the morning and at night, they pumped up my system too much.
I also learned to not avoid vomiting.
Once I would vomit, I just brushed my teeth and moved on. To this day I do not like to vomit, but I do not dread it. As you get larger, it feels stranger to get sick, but you are not harming the baby.
One trick my mom suggested (she also had morning sickness her entire pregnancies) place a cool wet bath cloth at the back of my neck and put my head down. It did help many times.
Remember that morning sickness is not fun, but usually it means that your child will be healthy. I only gained 19 lbs during my entire pregnancy, but my doctor just kept a good eye on the baby to make sure she was thriving. Now she is taller than me and about to leave for college!
Hang in there.

Increase your protein. Look up Brewer Pregnancy Diet online. Eat small meals/healthy snack size amounts throughout day. I promise it won't last forever, but I know it's miserable. I had m.s. for five and a half months once. A saltine when you rise can help early a.m., but you've got to eat protein which is usually the first thing you stop eating when you feel sick. Also, iron in prenatals sometimes is too high for some women (if you can get different prenatals, or take lots of B vitamins and lower doses of iron, like 20 mgs at a time, plus some other vitamin supplements you need, that's one way to avoid nauseau if you get it from high iron prenatals, but this wouldn't apply if "the bug" is like a cold. It's miserable some days, but you're building your babies body so your body is doing some serious, important work! Best wishes! BTW, you can safely use sub-lingual vitamin B which you can pick up from the pharmacy OTC area at Wal-Mart. It's healthy, and also helps moods. You can boost your immune system safely with tons of vitamin C. Maybe you can buy a copy of Healthy Woman's Herbals for the Child-Bearing Year from Susun Weed. *You're going to be told to completely stay away from herbs while your pregnant, and I know that this advice isn't helpful. You just have to know what truly helps and what to avoid. And they don't replace nourishing food, but they sure can help to safely strengthen/heal your body when you're pregnant and sick. You're probably not going to get enough of what you need from prenatals alone unless you have an awesome healthy 100 percent great diet daily. Gestate in peace!

Yeah, don't you love how they call it morning sickness? A man must have come up with that term b/c it's never just in the morning. Bless your heart that you're going through this - I know it sucks. The only thing that helped me was eating - a lot! I gained 10 lbs in the first 3 months b/c I had to eat constantly to keep myself from feeling sick. but i lost it very quickly after the pregnancy. If you don't like the idea of gorging yourself, your doc can prescribe something for the sickness. Good luck and hang in there!

With my first pregnancy (my son)...lemon worked wonders...lemonade, hard lemon candies...anything lemon.
With my second pregnancy (my daughter) the only thing I could eat for the first 10 weeks was Pringles potato chips and regular coca-cola out of a soda fountain (not from a can or bottle...it had to be from a restaurant or convenience store soda fountain).
Mine was all day sickness that actually got worse as the day progressed until finally I got relief at bedtime...I took Unisom and B6 (I don't think it helped the nausea, but it put me to sleep).
Finally I got a prescription for an anti-nausea medication but it put me to sleep when I took it...and I had my son then almost 2 at home to care for...he watched A LOT of TV.
Good luck...with both my pregnancies the MS stopped right at 10 weeks...yours will go away too...and it will freak you out when it stops.

The doctor told me about a quick remedy: 50mg of Unisom (tablet form) with 50mg of B6 when you go to bed. You will sleep like a baby and the morning sickness will be a LOT better. Mine hasn't completely gone away, but at least I can make it through the day.. it usually comes back around 5 or 6pm, but the vomiting as pretty much been eliminated. I have read alot about it, and it seems completely safe for the baby. Good luck! M.

I am a business consultant so I understand about the stress of working for others.
I had morning sickness from the beginning. First, I had my dr. put me on Zofran. Insurance would only pay for a certain number of pills every 30 days so I could only take one pill a day. This helped me get 50% through the morning which got me out of the door.
I never went 2 hours w/o eating.
First, I started taking showers at night. I felt too bad in the morning and did not have enough energy. Every morning my husband would bring me a muffin in bed. Once the muffin or two filled my stomach, I would get up and get ready. Before leaving the house, I would have another muffin or I would just eat it in the car.
I have always brought my lunch to work and ate at my desk. But instead of eating my lunch in one sitting, I would eat my sandwich. Two hours later or sooner, I would eat my 100 calorie snack...two hours...eat my pudding....two hours...I ate my soup. I started making a big thing of homemade soups every week. This helped me not eat junk food. Also, it helped with my liquid intake b/c most of my soups were broth based. At 5:00 p.m., I would decide whether or not I would work late and if so, I would go ahead and order my dinner.
Key: Eat every 2 hours. I always kept crackers on my nightstand in the middle of the night just in case.

With my first pregnancy, I had horrible morning sickness and couldn't keep anything down. It turned out I was getting sick from the iron in the prenatal vitamins! It's not common, but you may want to check it out. The doctor had me take two Flinstones chewables instead of the prenatal vitamins because I was so worried about giving up the vitamins after reading how important they are for the baby.
Before I found out what was causing the problem, friends gave me these suggestions that helped them: suck on peppermints, suck on lemons/limes, eat ice chips with lemon juice over them, eat Saltine crackers before getitng out of bed, drink weak hot tea. Maybe these will work for you.

I was really sick with my son to the point of dehydration. The doctor gave me one dose of something in the very beginning that knocked me out for several hours. After I woke up I still had the morning sickness but not as severe. Afterwards for the sickness I was told to suck on butterscotch or peppermint. It helps take the edge off. My doctor wanted to try and avoid medications so I tried it and it worked for me. I wasn't real big on the peppermint taste so I stocked up on butterscotch. It helped tremendously. At first I had one ready as soon as I finished another or finished eating but slowly was able to put a little space in between. It really helped.

I definitely recommend something before you get out of bed. Wake up and reach over and start eating something (I did a lot of granola bars or even a spoonful of peanut butter. My last pregnancy I had my husband bring me a bowl of cereal. I just rolled on my side and ate). I couldn't even sit up before eating. I had to stop my prenatal vitamins as well since they were making me sick. I would eat little things pretty much all day-cheese, crackers, fruit, yogurt. Unfortunately I think it's a bit trial and error. Something that someone swears by can make you nauseated just thinking about it! I also did Zofran and that was a life saver. Good luck and congratulations!

Always have something on your stomach. It's when it empties that putting food down there is an issue. Keep something by your bed that you can eat in the morning, something in your purse, etc.

I can so relate, too. With my first pregnancy, I was sick every day most of the day from my 2nd month through my 8th month. My second pregnancy, also a girl, I wasn't even nauseous a single day! Anyway, for me, a drug called Premesys (sp?) was what worked for me. It is a time-release B12 vitamin. We used Phenergan to stop the vomitting cycle (I was vomitting a lot, losing lots of weight, and nearly hospitalized a few times) and once I was on the Premesys for a few days, I was still nauseous and sick, but normally I only vomitted once each day or two. I also ate every hour or two very small portions and things with lots of liquid like grapes and watermellon. Just watch your teeth as best you can - that continuous exposure to sugars and such plus the vomitting is hard on them. I know brushing probably makes the nausea worse (at least it did for me), so you can swish with water or chew sugar-free gum to help them out a bit. I'm sure you'll find that some foods or smells are triggers to your nausea, so help your friends out by letting them know what is on the off-limits list if they are eating near you or helping you out by providing meals. Hang in there!!!

Oh T.,
I totally feel your misery. I am 23 weeks into my second pregnancy and I have "all day sickness" every day. I was the same way with my first. The doctor has perscribed Zofran to me. It is outrageously expensive, so if I may, let me tell you what I learned this second time around. Thankfully I have insurance and I hope you do as well. I am doing the mail order of the generic version (my OB didn't even know there was a generic.) This way I get 90 pills for $20 and I have 3 refills. If I didn't use the mail order and got the Zofran it would cost me (with my insurance paying 80%) $500 for 30 pills! I did lots of research before I went to my next Dr. appt, and called my insurance company. Yes, I did have to wait about a week before I received my perscription in the mail, but I couldn't afford to pay that much money! Luckily...my insurance company called in a small 10 pill supply at my local pharmacy and waived the copay to last me until I received my perscription in the mail. I am very thankful to my insurance company for explaining to me how I can still get the medication I needed and afford it. The first time around (5 yrs. ago) Zofran wasn't as expensive and it only cost me $120 for 30 pills, and there wasn't a generic yet. I didn't know about the mail order at that time. Unfortunately, I still get sick EVERY day, but not as often and I can keep water down. YEAH! I went into the hospital 3 times not including delivery with my first due to dehydration, etc. This time I have stayed out of the hospital so far, and I think it's because I make myself eat and drink even when I know that it's going to come back up. I know...Yuck, but I tell you what. It's working. I have only gained 3.5 pounds which is not good, but I know that my baby is getting enough nutrients and is healthy. He already weighs a little over a pound. I know that you said you have to work daily due to your commission, but try to get as much rest as you can. If you're able to take a little nap or rest during the day...do that. It really helps. I also work full time at a GREAT place. We have a separate quiet breakroom that I like to sneak off to at lunch time. I don't go to sleep, but just laying on my left side and resting for about 30 minutes makes a big difference. Hang in there! The reward at the end really makes it worth it even though it doesn't feel that way now.
Good Luck! Email me if you have any questions.

Looks like you've already gotten lots of great advice! That's always good since sometimes it takes trying lots of different things before you find the right thing(s) that work for you.
My top three things -
1) Graham crackers in the morning before getting out of bed. Since they practically dissolve in your mouth, you eliminate the need to chew - which can be harder than you would think when dealing with nausea.
2) EAT. Every two hours put SOMETHING in your mouth to help keep your belly full. I was terrible at this, but the times that I did this, I really did feel better. Protein and simple carbs seemed to work best for me.
3) Peppermints. Actually anything with peppermint oil is great for soothing upset tummies. I just stocked up on the candies and kept them in my purse to pop in my mouth.
Good luck. Just remember - this is only temporary. It WILL eventually go away. :)

I had morning "all day" sickness with my first pregnancy. The doctor prescribed Phenegran and it worked really well. However, it made me very sleepy. Since I didn't have any other children at the time it was ideal. Instead of getting sick I would just sleep. With my second pregnancy I didn't get morning sickness at all but if I did...Phenegran would not have been an option. I found this quote in a pregnancy website that I posted at my desk...because I too needed to work. It helped me get through those not so good days.

I don't have a remedy for stopping it, but slowing it down. At least until you can get to the doctor and get on some meds. I'm sure you have been told to try eating a couple of crackers before putting your feet on the ground in the morning. Do that, but slow down. Eat slow, swallow it slow, sit up slow...I'm sure you get the point. The best thing that worked for me after taking 20 minutes to get out of bed, was having a protein shake. That puts some weight in your belly and also greats some protein to the baby, which is something that he or she really needs. I know most protein shakes are gross, but I found that Lean Body by Labrada, you can get them at Vitamin Shoppe or off there website, are really tasty!!
Some other things to try during the day are sour dough bread, lemon flavored foods and ginger ale. On really bad days the doctor told me to have a pedisure or pedilite, so i was getting something in me. I hope this helps, it really worked for me.
Also avoid greasy, oily and spicy foods, until you can get through the morning sickness stage.
Good Luck!!

You need Zofran. I also had hyperemisis gravidarum(bad morning sickness). I actually lost 20 lbs getting down to 120lbs. Zofran comes in a pill which your doctor will probably prescribe first. I actually had to go on home health care where I had IV's for fluid and a zofran pump.
One of my home health nurses recommended frozen lemonaid. The kind you buy at the grocery store near the frozen orange juice. The pink lemonaid worked the best. Keep hydrated. I was sick until my 8th month. Please Google hyperemesis as this is very serious. My doctor stated it occurs more frequently in women over 30, which I was. You will get through it. I had a hard pregnancy but the birthing experience was relatively easy! Good luck.

Boy, I feel your pain. I've been there twice. No one understands that it's like having a stomach virus for 3 months. It almost seems like a cruel joke. I hate to say it but I never found anything that helped with the misery. I did get some Preggy Pops from Motherhood in the mall. I found those to be useful. Chewing on peppermints or peppermint gum was good too. Try anything with ginger in it. Eat/cook foods with fresh ginger. Try ginger teas too. When I was pregnant with twins, it was so bad I couldn't function and was loosing weight pretty fast. My doctor prescribed Zofran (it's a chemo patient drug). I would only use it if yor are in really bad shape. It's incredibly expensive (my insurance only paid for 9 pills a month!!!). Lastly, it's never a great idea to take anything while pregnant. I just feel like I had no choice, as I had a toddler to care for. Good luck to you! It's going to be so tough but in the end, you will have your little beauty!

Ginger candy works well. (look for it in Asian markets or Whole foods etc..) Also, like the others said Zofran works well.
It should pass by the 12th week.
Good luck!:)

When you go to the doc ask for Phenergen (spelling?). It's a pill you can take (yes it's safe to take when pregnant) but it helps w/morning sickness. It's a blessing in disguise!

What "helped" me was brushing my teeth often. Everyone is different but morning sickness usually only lasts through the first trimester (12 weeks). Mylanta and tums are safe to use and help also. You might try crackers while you are out working. Once it goes away it will all be worth it! Good luck and God bless!

I'm sure you've heard it all before but I would make sure to eat OFTEN. little snacks. Just pop a cracker with meat or cheese...I think the biggest thing I heard and experienced was keeping my protein up. COUNT YOUR GRAMS! You need at least 80-100 grams of protein everyday- that helps SO MANY things. Also, my mother in law tried the ginger pops (suckers) and really liked them. Best wishes.

I felt fine until my 5th week........and then was sick all day for the next 9 mos. I actually got sick the day they put me in the hospital to give birth, had my son.........and never was nauseous again.
I was diagnosed w/ HG (hyperemisis gravidarum). I did the ginger chews & the "sea bands" you wear on your wrist for sea sickness - they actually help. At 10 weeks pregnant I was put in Phenergan - knocked me out & I plateaued on the 13th week on the highest dose. At this point I had lost 15 lbs.
On my next appt at 14 weeks they put me on Zofran.........and it was a MIRACLE!!!! The only thing is that if I missed a dose even by 30 minutes I would start vomiting everywhere - lots of embarrassing public situations b/c it would just come out of nowhere :(. BUT, I ended up eating & having cravings & all that good stuff thanks to the Zofran :)
I had a little boy - so don't know about the whole "you're having a girl" theory.........but what I learned later from my nutritionist is that if you are seratonin deficient going into your pregnancy this can happen. Seratonin helps regulate an area in your brain that deals w/ nauseau. I also took an intense round of B-12 injections after I had the baby to get my vitamin level back up post partum.
I know it's awful right now, but talk w/ your doctor about Zofran & remember you are going to have the best reward of your life at the end of this!!! Take Care.

I was realllysick with my last pregnancy. Throwing up 6-8 times a day. I used prescrition anti-nausea medicine that helped a lttle bit. But the thing that really got me over the nausea and vomiting was acupuncture. It was amazing and helped a ton. Good luck-pregnancy nausea is the worst :-(

I was the same way when i was pregnant and it didn't go away until i had my son. So my doctor gave me Zofran, you take it once a day and it stops the morning sickness. But if you miss a day then the morning sickness comes back, but if you then take it (at least for me) within 10 minutes i was feeling fine. So i would ask your doctor about that. Cause without it i would not have been able to function at work or anything. My morning sickness lasted all day and all night. So i know how you feel. Hopefully this helps. Also the pill is safe to take.

Some things to try: ginger pills or ginger tea, peppermint, and my favorite, prego pops. You can find them at Babies R Us and they come in all kinds of flavors. As long as I had one in my mouth I didn't feel nauseous. Other than that, there's not much you can do except wait it out.

I had the "all day" sickness too.....It seemed to be a bit better when I would take packets a day of Emergen-C. That was ok with my Dr. because it didn't have any herbs. The high dose of vitamin C and B vitamins gives you energy and it also helped with my nausea. Eating was just plain difficult but I was able to drink LOTS of Carnation instant breakfast. I would also eat granola with wheat germ added for extra protein, and on some days I was able to eat the small yogurts and the Fiber one Chocolate chip and oat bars.
Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to some of those who answered previously, but I would NOT recommend stopping prenatal vitamins to help with morning sickness! They are your best source of folic acid & other vitamins that are very important in preventing birth defects, especially early in pregnancy. That being said, I do sympathize; I too suffered from morning sickness during my 2 pregnancies. What worked for me was, when it was really bad, keeping animal crackers, granola bars, or peanut butter crackers by my bed to munch on in the morning before I actually got out of bed & started moving around. It seemed like moving around on an empty stomach made things a lot worse. I also tried to eat small healthy snacks throughout the day, because I would feel worse when my stomach got really empty. Unfortunately it's a misnomer - morning sickness can occur any time of day, but to me it was worse with an empty stomach. Try taking your vitamin after eating breakfast or after whichever meal it's convenient & easy to remember. Vitamins are important but can be irritating on an empty tummy. Hope this helps!

I had to travel throughout my whole pregnancy and have puked in at least five different countries. Planes, trains, and automobiles. For the record, KLM flight attendents much more accomodating than Air France!
I second the protein snack before bed. If you are waking up to pee during the night (I know I was by that point), you might try a spoonful of peanut butter and a couple of slices of apple. The carb/protein combination will help stabilize your blood sugar and can help with the first thing in the morning sickness.
Even when you are nauseous, you need to try to eat something. Lots of little meals in the day.
Definitely get a good vitamin. I took one by NF Laboratories that is all natural and very easy on the stomach.
I used the lemon/lime to get rid of smells...but taking a quick suck on something sour can also help alleviate that yuck feeling. I used this a lot on airplanes.

Well congrats on the pregnancy. I am 12 wks along and I just found my cure for the morning sickness. I woke up in the middle of the night and ate like 6 saltine crackers and went back to sleep. I woke up and felt great. you would not believe how much I have been getting done around the house now that I am not vomiting all day long. I have realized if you can control it in the morning then you can get better relief for the rest of the day. I hope this works for you. Good luck and let us know what works for you. K.

I had morning sickenss really bad with my first one. One thing that I found really helped settle my stomach was ginger. Before I got up in the morning, I would eat a couple of gingersnaps it really seemed to help. Also never letting your stomach get completely empty helps also. I had tried the suckers and other stuff before the gingersnaps and didn't see the same results. I also have a friend that had really bad nausea from some medicine she was taking, and she got ginger pills from a healthfood store and she said those were better than any antinausea medicne she had tried. Mythbusters on the Discovery channel tried it as well and said it really worked.

Morning sickness SCHMorning Sickness huh?...lol. I am afraid to say, that nothing really worked for me. I know it is not what you want to hear. I basically learned how to manage when I would actually throw up. When I got that down to a science; the heartburn started kicking in...lol. Your nausea is your harmones going all wonky and the best thing to do besides crackers, sprite, and tums is to wait it out untill your second (sometimes third!) trimester. You want to be careful with what you take. Be sure to wait until you speak with your doctor.. I know it is hard right now, but you begin to learn the sick trick of being nauseous AND hungry at the same time. That was the craziest thing to me. You're thinking:"I'm gonna eat so good.....after I puke." God Bless and you will be just fine!

Hi T.,
I feel for you. I was sick all day for 7mos with my second one! My doctor told me at one appointment that I needed to stop loosing weight (wish I had that problem now).
Anyway- for me there was really nothing to be done about it, but maybe some of the stuff I tried will help you...
I went to GNC and bought Ginger Extract pills- I personally don't like ginger and couldn't stomach the ginger candy, so I bought it in extract form. Side effect is that you burp up ginger and that's pretty gross, but I think it helped a little.
My doctor also prescribed me some Pfenegrin (sp?). It's an anti-nausea drug. It won't hurt the baby, but it can knock you out, which if you're working is kind of a problem.
I also tried keeping some crackers by the bed and eating a couple of them before I'd even get up in the morning so I wasn't trying to move on an empty stomach. Seemed to help a little.
One positive thing about the morning sickness (as told to me by my doctor) is that it means that your body is producing a lot of the hormone that helps to keep you pregnant- which is a good thing. It could also mean that you're pregnant with a baby girl, as I've been told that you produce more hormone when pregnant with a girl- but I don't know if that's fact or not.
I hope that something helps you. I know how absolutely miserable the morning sickness can make you. Hang in there- hopefully it won't last the duration!

If you are on Prenatal vitamins, stop them until you see your OBGYN. It is not going to hurt you or your baby. The key is to keep you from getting dehydrated. I would call your doctor and tell him what you are experiencing. He should see you sooner and perhaps he can prescribe something for the vomiting(Zofran; make sure ins. covers the Zofran or phenergan). Please call him today because I don't think it's a "bug." It's from the pregnancy, which is not a bad thing, but again, I can't stress enough that you need to stay well hydrated. Also, be sure not to drink any fluids directly after vomiting. Wait at least 30 minutes and slowly introduce fluids again. Suck on clear popsicles, ice, etc. Don't panic about the foods. Fluids are more important at this stage in your pregnancy. Hope this helps!

Preggie pops and making sure I had good B vitamins in my prenatals really helped a lot. Preggie pops have some sort of B-vitamins in them. Talk to your doctor about them...they are sold all over the place including HEB Plus.
Do not take your vitamins on an empty stomach or at night...
I really hope you find some relief!

Something high-protein before bed put me on the right path during my 1st pregnancy. I had 2 oatmeal cookies and a glass of milk before bed and I felt great the next morning. For my current pregnancy I had cheese and crackers before bed and then oatmeal fixed the exact same way every morning. This time around, I had to be super careful about when I took my vitamins. Before a meal would be okay, but after a meal would make me barf. Also, I tried some cheaper, over the counter vitamins trying to save money. Boy was that a mistake! I was sick all the time, too. I recommend holding off on taking your vitamins for a few days and see if that helps. Hope you feel better soon.

When I was pregnant, I got "morning sickness" whenever my blood sugar dropped. I had saltines on my nightstand for morning. If I didn't feel sick when I woke up I would drink a glass of milk immediatly upon getting up.
Keep a snack with you during the day and if it's been a while since you ate then eat it before you feel sick. Bananas are a great snack plus they have fiber.
If you wait too long and feel sick eat saltine crackers. The baking soda soothes the stomache. Also I drank sprite, or a similar soda. When you burp from the bubbles it helps the nausia.
I also had to take my prenatal vitamin with food otherwise I'd throw up everytime. I don't know that the type matters, just don't put it in an empty stomache.

Have you tried sipping Sprite or some other non caffeine beverage to keep you hydrated?? This will eventually go away!
Good Luck!

Whole Foods/Central Market carry "Ginger Chews" candy. If you go to the bulk isle, get some and try it. It worked GREAT!!! Takes all the qweezies away fast! I am 19 weeks with twins and the stuff worked MAGIC!! I still have candies everywhere, purse, nightstand, etc. When you have extras, even the kids like it! Also, another thing that helped me out. Keep some snacks in your nightstand (granola bars, or peanut bars). Then, eat something before you even get out of bed in the morning. I would get out of bed in the A.M. and be fine, but by the time I got downstairs, I'd be sick. If I ate a snack before getting out of bed, I could actually make it downstairs and wait long enough to make breakfast!
Oh, and don't forget to EAT. When you are qweezy, the last thing you want to think about is eating and barfing, but holding back on a meal will actually make you MORE qweezy! Just EAT and take it easy (try the ginger chews) and relax.
With my daughter, I has morning sickness all day, every day for 15 weeks and needed a RX for Zofran, but this time, the ginger chews did the trick.

First, congrats on your pregnancy! I am in a similar situation-- I'm 7 weeks pregnant, and get nauseated all day, too.
What works for me is lemonade.
I figured it out when we were out to dinner one night, and, cutting down on soda, I've been drining more water and juice. The place had lemonade, and I found that after just a couple sips, I wasn't nauseous, for the first time in a couple weeks.
Now, I keep a pitcher of it in the fridge, refill my water bottle as needed throughout the day, and it has cut back my stomach problems.
Good luck, and I hope you find something that works for you soon!

i swore by vitamin B-6 for both my pregnancies! you can take up to 70mg per day, so just check your pre-natal vitamins first to see how much is already in those.
my first pregnancy, i was so sick i couldn't eat, drink, or even move without getting sick. as soon as i started taking the vitamin B-6 i wasn't sick again unless i forgot to take it that day =)
good luck and congrats!
