5 minutes. LOL I'm kidding but no joke, right away. I'm too fertile so I stay on lock down, I have paragard now tho bc I did not like mirena.
I'm just wondering how long it took some of you ladies to get pregnant after getting an IUD (mirena) removed? We aren't done having kids, but I would like to have an idea of how far in advance to get it removed in order to semi-schedule our next pregnancy. I don't have much of a period right now, will that come back in full force once the IUD is removed or will it take a while? Thank you for your answers.

I'm with Leah M. Five minutes! I got mine out (late July) with intention of ttc (in December). I only had occassional periods while on the Mirena, got my 1st real one about a month after removal, pregant by the end of that month (September)! Just call me "fertile Myrtle"!!
ETA: I had the Mirena in for 4.5 years (installed 2 months after having dd).
I would give it about 6 mos after removal to start trying again. I know some people who get pregnant right away, but it does take a while for things to get back to normal. At least it did for me.
I didn't get periods while I had Mirena in.
After I removed it the first time, I got pregnant on my first cycle. (removed, bled a week later, and then got pregnant). The second one I removed, my cycle returned to "normal" immediately and I was ovulating - I charted my cycle. It took 7 months to get pregnant though, but that was because I always ovulated on a Wednesday and DH was gone from M-F. I got pregnant the week he said "I'm done hearing you whine about TTC. So I'm not traveling for work this week and I'm getting you pregnant". The third time I had it removed, I got pregnant on the 2nd month.
