My husband and I did the potty training in 3 days program with our own spin on it. When you are trying to potty train the most important thing to remember is that just because it worked for someone else doesn't mean it works for everyone. What's right for one might not be right for another. We started off with a cheap potty training doll from Walmart (http://www.amazon.com/Lots-Love-Drink-Baby-Doll/dp/B00099.... Our son first taught the doll how to use the potty like a big boy. Then after that we filled our son with liquids and asked him every few minutes if he had to teetee. If he said "no" we would let him go on about his business and keep asking until he either had an accident or would say "yes" and go teetee. If he did have an accident we would go from the accident spot to the potty 10 times while explaining (nicely) that we don't teetee on the floor. To help cut down on the messes on the floor, bed, etc. you might look into buying training pants. They are real underwear with just a little bit more padding to absorb liquid (http://gerberchildrenswear.com/products/subcategory.aspx?.... When he would tell us that he had to go teetee and he actually went in the potty and not in his pants, we would throw a "Potty Party". A lot of expense doesn't need to go into this. My son LOVES Spongebob so I went to Walmart and bought Spongebob party hats and whistles and made a big deal if he did what he was supposed to. I should also mention that when the doll went teetee in the potty, we all participated in a party for the doll so my son would see that you get a party if you do what your supposed to do. It took about a week with a few accidents for the following month but overall it was fairly easy. It can be frustrating and exhaustating but so worth it. Our son is potty trained and completly out of diapers. Even at night. Best Wishes and Good Luck!
