Hi mamas! I've been MIA for a while, 3 kids under 3 is tough!!

I was hoping to take somewhat of a poll. I am almost 3 months post partum and still haven't gotten my period yet. I did not BF this time around, bottle fed from the beginning. I can't tell you how many pregnancy tests I have taken....all with negative results. I am wondering what is going on. I'm planning on calling my OB at the 3 month mark, if I don't get it by then.

So, bottle feeding moms - when did you get your first post partum period?

What can I do next?

Just be happy! ;) With my first I got my period back at about 4 weeks, maybe 5, with my second it was 2 weeks!!! I was shocked, and at first I thought I was having complications from my c-section, but not so much! Just to further irk me, I was actually pumping so I was hoping that at least would stave off the period, but not so much! I'm sure it's natural, if you've taken a pregnancy test I wouldn't worry!

I also bottle fed and it was nearlt 5 months before I got a period. I was freaked out too but between the time of giving birth and getting my first period I had horrid yeast infections. I mean horrid. Doc said my hormones were outa wack and they finally calmed down. Just use protection and be careful but it can take a while! Congrats!

I was pumping but not very much (1 feeding worth per day) and it took 10 months with my second baby. My first was about 5-6 months in the same situation.

It took a while for my period to come back. It's very normal to take awhile to get back on schedule.

Yay. Hormones.

I nursed, but had my period back 2 weeks after my lochia abated. (Joy). My cousin by marriage exclusively formula fed and it took over a year for her cycle to return.

Irritating answer... but "it" happens when your hormones even out (as long as you're not dieting/exercising or under a lot of stress... the 2 biggest reasons for periods stopping for months to years at a time). Birth control pills can speed up the process OR slow it down.

To completely and totally make up a stat (general idea is true, but I'm not looking up the actual stats) about 75% of nursing mothers don't get their periods until 6-12 months, and 75% of formula feeding moms get their period back in under 6 months. The remaining 4th come early -sigh, like me- or late.
