I was wondering if anyone has tried to use one of those support belts after you have the baby. Motherhood and Mimi Maternity carry them for about $25 and I was wondering if they really help your tummy go down faster and if they're comfortable after a c-section.
I also saw an advertisement for a "taut" by Brooke Burke on http://www.babooshbaby.com/ It's the same concept. Has anyone tried one of hers?

I got the belt from Baboosh Baby online, and i love it. It's worked really well so far (I'm 2 weeks post-baby). It says to wear it 24/7 for 40 days but I'm only wearing it until I get too uncomfortable. My tummy has already gone down quite a bit!
Never heard of them. Wish someone had told me about them after my c-section... maybe it would've helped.

I wore something called a "binder" after my hysterectomy (abdominal) c-section type scar that you can hardly see now...in 2001 to prevent "swelly belly". I used it faithfully.
I am 46, flat bellied, still sized 2 or less. I don't know the correct term for it if you use it for c-section. I just know that when I came out of surgery, they popped the patch on me (WHOO HOO...LOVE IT) and the binder. I used it for a LONG time and never had the side effects I was told I would have due to swelly belly and hysterectomy.
I got mine while at the hospital but it is worth a lot of $$ to me and I would purchase one if I ever had another abdominal surgery. It helped me. Of course, I had not just delivered a baby. I do not know what difference it would make with hysterectomy vs c-section.
I used the one I got at the hospital for a while after my c-section. I looked around for another one after that one didn't fit, and couldn't find one that seemed as comfortable. I was told to check out Spanx and I love them. I have the Slim Cognito Seamless Mid-Thigh Bodysuit. It looks like a pair of shorts...it goes up to your bra and down to your thighs. It definitely helps keep you all "tucked" in and helped me fit into my regular clothes. I think I paid around $70 ea. for them. I used them after all three c-sects but only for a short time. Your body needs to use those muscles in order to recover them and tone them. There is a part of the c-sect that will never be taunt. I had cancer when my second child was 6 months. I went from weighing 130 to 88 lbs. and still had a little "gut" where my c-sect was. After my 3rd, I just wore it for 6 weeks then took it off and began working out my abs with pilates and yoga and ball sit ups. Don't get dependent on it, get your back and abdominal wall strong and you won't need it. Good Luck, M.
