So my husband and I have been TTC for the past two months and I think I may have just misscarried. I have been tracking my ovulation with predictor tests and according to them I had my LH surge on the 6th of this month and I am due for my period tomorrow or Monday. I have been feeling a little off for the last week or so. Well yesterday I started spotting and bleeding quite a bit and thought I was maybe starting my period but last night but it didn't seem like a normal start to my period (ie: amount, color etc.) so I took a pregnancy test last night that came out with a faint positive. Today the spotting/bleeding has stopped but I tood two other HP tests and they both came back negative. What do you ladies think? could I have miscarried or was I having implantation bleeding or did I get a false positive?? I have a three year old and I kind of remember having implantation spotting but I don't think it was as heavy as the bleeding and spotting I had yesterday. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

It doesn't matter, I suppose, except for looking up information but this is called a spontaneous abortion. Here is some information that might help you in knowing if you were pregnant and aborted.

New info for me. This is also called a chemical pregnancy. This site also calls it a miscarriage. Technicalities, yes. But at the same time knowing the differences can help us understand what is or has happened and thus, at least if it were happening to me, feel less anxious. I'd still grieve the loss but I'd wait before I took a pregnancy test next time.

A description of implantation bleeding.

Yes my sister had something similar. It sounds like a very early miscarriage. I'm sorry if it was, good luck to you.

If you did miscarry, it should not have shown a negative in a home pregnancy test that quickly... they measure hormone levels to determine positive or negative and that would not come and go overnight. I would say you are either pregnant... and maybe got pregnant close enough to your start date to not completely stop the period (it happened to me so I did spot the first month), or you got a false positive on the first test.

Sounds like a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy. My friend had the same. She said it was like a heavier period. Implantation bleeding is usually fairly light I think.

Yes, I think this is an early miscarriage. I'm sorry. The positive that changes quickly to a negative is a sure sign--you had some pregnancy hormones, but not many and once you start bleeding they plummet. (It's also called a chemical pregnancy because the "chemicals" will show up on a test, briefly.) Good luck getting pg again--I hope it's soon.

A faint positive means you are pregnant, but it is early. The two negatives probably mean your hormone levels aren't high enough for consistent positives. Every day you wait, the positive test will be stronger. Time of day makes a huge difference too. Very early in pregnancy, first morning urine will have a higher hormone concentration giving a positive result while a test later in the day will not be concentrated enough to get a positive result.

Bleeding early in pregnancy is very common. If I were you, I'd get dollar tree tests and do a test each morning until you are getting consistent results.

Number one out of 144 pregnancies 44 are miscarried. It is a good thing because it is not good to have a defective child.
If you are pregnant less anxiety will help your baby develop normally. If you have miscarried do not worry. You will conceive again.

I'm so sorry, L., This does sound alot like what happened to me. We were TTC and by the day my period was due, I was showing early signs of pregnancy. I took 2 at home tests, and had the same thing you did, faint positve lines. We went to the hospital and had a test done there, and they told me I was not, becuase I did not have "enough" pregnancy hormone. Confused, we went home. Still no period 5 days after that, I was at work one day and (Sorry if TMI) I used the bathroom and when I stood up I noticed a "fuzzy" white clump about 3/4 inch in diameter with a pink dot in the center in the toilet. Thank goodness it was towards the end of the day and I was going with a friend of mine to have dinner with out hubbies. I told her what happened and she thought I'd had an early miscarriage. Later that night I had what had to have been the WORST cramps of my life! And the next day I started my "period' but is was tremendously heavy and only lasted one day. So, again, deep down I know it was an early miscarriage, despite what my midwives said. They seemed to think that it was not and that if it was I would NOT ovulate on schedule. Well, I did and got preggo with my oldest son. ;-)
I hope this helps. I know it's hard, but remember your body knows when something is not right. take care of yourself and you'll be preggie sooner then you know it!! ;-)
