K.,
You didn't say when you took the first pregnancy test at the clinic. I am assuming that it was last month and perhaps you took it too early. If you took 3 pregnancy tests and they were all positive then you need to go back to the clinic and have another one taken there. Let them know you are concerned about the large clot. They will be able to help you medically if you are pregnant or not or if you did possibly have a miscarriage.

Perhaps you are just having a regular period and it was just late. Stress, change in weight, more frequent exersize, etc... can all lead to an inconsistant cycle.

You are wise to follow your instincts and go to the clinic today. Let us know what happened.

K., I am sorry you are so scared. It is possible that you were pregnant but in the very early stages. When you went to the clinic it probably came back negative because you were too early. I think it doesn't show up until after you miss your period but I could be wrong.
I an sorry. You will probably just have a period that is a little heavier. You might not need to go back to the clinic. Just keep an eye on it. If the heavy clotting does not stop then you might want to go.

My vote would be that you are having an early miscarriage. You will probably have a "period" for a few days and then most likely be back to normal cycles w/in 6wks or so. I had a miscarriage in October, mine was slow :( But definately get some medical care to make sure things come out like they are supposed to.
Hope you are doing ok.

Getting medical attention ASAP is what's needed - we can all only self-diagnose to a degree. And whatever the situation is, if it has you as worried as you sound, you need to get medical attention ASAP! I wish you good luck & hope that all turns out well!

AI am glad that you are feeling better about this possible situation. For future reference, if you think that you are pregnant, DO NOT use a tampon, only pads, you may cause problems. Also, some women have a "period" for their entire pregnancy. Please watch out for any signs of infection~~weird odors, just not feeling right, if you start feeling like you have the flu, go immediately to the dr/er and let them know about the pregnancy tests. An incomplete miscarriage can cause problems too. I hope that this was helpful, and not scary.

This sounds like a miscarriage, but you could still be pregnant and bleeding at the same time. The only reason I think it is a miscarriage is because of the clot. Dont use tampons anymore until you know if you are still pregnant or not. You dont want to risk infection. The free clinic will be able to help you, but a doctor can draw your blood and see where your levels are to confirm a miscarriage or not. Good Luck and best wishes!

It certainly sounds like a miscarriage in which case there is really nothing to be done. It could also be that the entire lining of the uterus dumped which can sometimes happen but is not cause for alarm. You may want to get checked out just in case but I think you are probably fine.

get yourself to the doctor...NOW
because if you had a misscarriage and there is tissue left behind, you could get blood poisoning and be dead in a few short days you might have had a misscarriage, but you need to be checked out by a OBGYN to be certain. i had a period too, or what i thought was my regular period back in early august, then found out i was pregnant about a week after that. then to really make things interesting... we delivered the baby in our bathroom on the eight of december, two months ahead of schedule.she weighed in at two pounds, six ounces and she is in the nicu.

It definitely sounds like you are having a miscarriage. I'm sorry for your loss and fear. Having had one myself, I can say the pain wasn't much worse than a bad period. The heartache can be long to get over though. I hope you talk to a friend to help you through it. Even though you didn't really feel pregnant or feel the baby, it can cause emotional backlash to know you lost a baby. Please feel free to reply to me at any time. J.

HI K.,
I am sorry for what you are going through. I just wanted to write and let you know that I experienced the same thing (started bleeding the day I had 2 positive pregnancy test.) My doctor confirmed pregnancy with blood test but I lost the pregnancy eventually. I am not sure if you are miscarrying but if you are, there is a few things that I'll share with you that helped me to heal a bit: First of all, it happens to more women than you can even guess! It's pretty common to miscarry this early. You just don't here it too often because most of us forget about it once we have other babies. And no, it doesn't mean that something is wrong with you or that you won't be able to carry again. That was the first thing my doc. assured me of and even though at the time I still worried she was right. I did have a healthy pregnancy later on. The other point is that since it is too early in the pregnancy you most likely won't have to end up with a procedure where they pretty much clean your uterus. The body usually does well to do it on its own when this early in pregnancy.BUT YOU NEED TO BE SURE THAT NOTHING HAS LEFT IN THE UTERUS, it is very important. So make sure the clinic helps you with that or see a doc. no matter what the cost. I hope this helps, good luck with everything.
