S.S.
i had a daughter, six years later a son 15 months after that another son. six years later another son. I had hoped for a girl but its just was well it was a boy as they are sooooooooooooo much easier lol
I'm just curious how many who had 2 same sex children went on to have a 3rd also the same sex. I have two boys and am thoroughly happy and in love with them. We are due for our 3rd at the beginning of May and I secretly want another boy, although as long as my child is healthy and thriving is what I'm wishing for. But everyone, including my hubby, is so set on wishing us luck that its girl.
Granted I think I would totally be thrilled with a girl, but practically speaking it would so much easier to have another boy. I would feel slightly disappointed for my hubby he so wants 'his little girl', but we're already set with boys and I'm just thinking throwing a little girl in the mix would throw my world upside down initially. So I am just curious how this scenario played out for all of you.....
I know our chances are 50/50, but I remember an ultrasound tech telling us if we have 2 of the same sex our chances go up considerably with the 3rd that it would be the same again--thoughts?
Wow thanks ---i love hearing about the different results--goes to show it is all just in the hands of fate (or should I say sperm). So blessed to be given this opportunity just to guess what's coming next for us.....Keep them coming i was hoping to see a pattern, but as always I knew it couldn't be that easy LOL!

My first three children are all boys. My second three children are all girls. I don't know what the next three were because I lost them in early miscarriage. However, we ended up naming them 1 girl and 2 boys. Don't know why, we just did. Enjoy the waiting game! But, know that you will be delighted with whatever you end up with. It just usually works that way.
Of the families I know that had two kids of the same sex in 4 cases the third was also the same sex and in 2 cases it was different.
I have 8 children, yes I know some on here think that's terrible, and we had two boys, two girls, two boys, two girls so ours came in twos. I know of a couple people who had 4 of either boy or girl before they got the opposite sex. You just never know. When I had my boys I had wanted a girl first but never thought of that again and was happy with them and then when we got a girl the 3rd time I was happy and so on. Just love what you get and it will all work out.
3 , all boys. My OB said the same thing your U/S tech , told you.
I have three boys and another child on the way. People ask if I want a girl. The truth is, after three boys and a hubby, I'm not even sure *I* know how to be a *girl* anymore, let alone how to raise a girl! Lol! So this time, I'm not going to find out and I am going to let it be as much of a suprise as a boy (not much of a surprise given the history) or girl (total shock and surprise-frantic last minute shopping!) can be.
Oh, btw, my MIL had three boys as well. I shoulda known!
I have three boys, and I love it! I know several people with larger families who started out with two of the same gender and wound up with a pretty even distribution in the end.
We had three boys, a girl, a boy, a girl and two boys. I'm so glad we have eight. They are such a joy to their dad, and the grandchildren and my wife make my life complete. (Christmas, and thanksgiving can be a little hectic, but so much fun.) A friend of mine had 5 boys and then a girl. My brother had a boy then a girl.
I have one daughter with two boys and a girl. Another with a girl and two boys. A third with two girls and a boy, and a fourth with three girls and a fifth with a girl and two boys, then two girls.
Good luck to you and yours.
We have 3 boys, no girls
My friends are the oldest of 9 girls. Babies 10 & 11 were their parents' first boys.
We have 2 boys, and we're due with our third baby (gender unknown) in January. You know, it does bother me that people ask, "are you trying for a girl?" I'm actually just trying to have a baby. I can't wait to have him or her placed on my chest at the moment of birth. I just can't wait. I feel I will be happy no matter what it is. Although, we are having a hard time coming up with a 3rd boy name as we've used our favorites. I think that's my only issue right now.
2 boys and am pregnant but don't know yet- I would like a baby girl, but I would absolutely love another boy as well-- what I really want is just a healthy baby though.
M
I had two boys and REALLY wanted a girl so I tried again..........yep another boy and I ashamed to say that I was depressed and looked for support groups (there were none) but I got over it and the minute I felt him move, the minute I saw his face I loved him sooooooooooo much I can't express in words!!! He is the BEST son a mom could ever hope for and wouldn't trade him for a million girls!
I had 2 boys, and wanted the 3rd to be a boy. My theory was, it's easier if they are all the same. well, I had a girl. Plus, My husband was from a family of 3 boys.
I have a friend who has 3 boys and the fourth is a girl.
My mom had 4 boys and then me:)
Eh, I'm not sure I believe the "if you have 2 of the same then your odds change" line of thinking, but I'm not a scientist so what do I know, right? My husband has a daughter from a previous relationship, then we have a son, then a daughter. My sister has 2 boys & they're like you in kind of hoping that when they're ready for their 3rd (really soon) that they have another boy but of course they'll also be thrilled regardless of the sex.
3 boys for me and I love it :)
Of course I would love a girl too, but I think I was meant to have boys....
My MIL had 3 boys and then a girl... My aunt had 4 girls and then the 5th was a boy, My friend with 7 kids has 4 boys (2 of them twins) and 3 girls, I have 1 boy and 2 girls...
At the end of the day I think it is a 50/50 chance.
Good luck! and Congrats
I have two girls ages 8 and 5...just recently had a baby boy thats 3 mths old!!! It is possible!! Good luck and congrats!!!
I only have two children but my mom is the 3rd of three girls. My dad is the 1st of three boys. My aunt had 3 girls and then a boy and her daughter had 3 boys and then a girl. Statistics show that you are 51% likely to have a boy, 49% likely to have a girl during a first pregnancy. Once you have two boys of the same sex the odds do go up for having another boy but only to 52%. If you have two girls there is a 54% chance the next child will be a girl. I read this in one of the magazines in my doctor's office when I was pregnant.
count me out of that equation.....i totally thought i was having a third girl a month ago.......im pregnant with a boy. :)
I only know one person with 3 of the same gender, but then again most of the people i know who have kids are in their 20s and early 30s and not that many of them have more than 2.
(but i understand your want for another boy......though people may find it odd that you wouldnt want a girl as your first choice i get it 100%. I was wanting another girl so badly.)
Well, I only have two. A boy and a girl. So my case doesn't fit your question.
However, my brother has 4 kids.
His first 3 were girls. His 4th is a boy.
My pastor has 5.
Their first 4 were girls, the 5th is a boy.
My friend has 3.
All 3 are boys.
Oh GEE... how could I forget?! I have 2 older brothers. So 2 boys, then me, a girl. :)
Hi luv-
Here it was boy...boy...girl...boy...boy...twin girls!
Best Luck!

I've heard that your chances are closer to 80% of having another boy. That being said, my SIL had 3 boys, but my sister and my best friend's mom went on to have 2 boys and than a girl. My mom had 2 girls and than a boy. Both my sister and my mom when on to have other kids.
I was in love with the idea of the '3 brothers'...I thought would be just so perfect, one of them would always have 'a plan' of something fun to do! My whole family + in-laws + hubby wanted the girl..
I was the only one wishing for the trio of boys :(
I have 2 boys and 1 girl and its awesome!
My first 2 are boys and my third is a girl.
A lot of things we were still able to hand down. There is 5 years between 2 & 3 and 8 years between 1 & 3 so a lot of things were in need of being replaced due to age and already being well used for 2 other kids though. But, family and friends were more than happy to buy for our new little girl, and so were we ;)
I don't see any real difference in raising boys and girls. They're all just children. Same needs etc. She didn't throw anything array beyond what any newborn does at first. I love have my boys and my girl!!
2 boys then a girl, SIL(hubby's sister) had the same.
However i know about 50/50 people with 3 boys /2boys and a girl.
Since you were asking about girl names i guess you are having a girl, congrats!!!!!Our little girl is a little clone of our first boy, has a clone personality of our second, likes star wars, cars and legos(and baby dolls).
I keep looking for the difference everyone was talking about between girls and boys and yet to find one.......well besides fun clothes and shoes(and at 12 months she has even less hair than the boys did so no hair bows for her):)
I am the 2nd of 4 2 girls then 2 boys, I have 3 of my own 1 girl and 2 boys, my brother has a boy, my mom has her sister my dad has a sister, my sister has 2 girls and a boy, just enjoy, I know I do most of the time, lol
