My husband and I don't really know anyone we can trust to watch our 2 1/2 year old son from time to time so we can have a date night, etc. Our families don't live close by and none of our close friends have any experience with kids. Any ideas (other than drop off "funtime" type places) for us? Is there a couple in the Dallas area (we live by White Rock Lake) that has one or two kids that would be interested in sharing babysitting like every other week or once per month, etc? Maybe you have a babysitter that you use a lot that we would trust? Please shoot any and all ideas our way!
We live in the same area and I have an almost 14 year old daughter that is trying to raise funds for a choir trip. She is a very responsible young woman and I will always be available to her.
I would first check with your church to see if they have a babysitter list. Maybe also check with the Red Cross to see if they offer a list of the kids who take the babysitting class.
A trade-off is an awesome idea if you can find another couple to do that with. I'd love to do that if I lived closer - I have a hilarious 2.5 year old boy, too. :) :)
