We got a snowman one for my daughter last year at the Cracker Barrell store (attached to the restaurant. It has a switch on the bottom, and when you turn it on, it "snows" and plays Christmas songs. They had a big selection of other cute ones, too.

My boys just made their own at Grandma's over Thanksgiving break. She had some of the round "holiday" Coke bottles that you can get at Wal-mart right now for a $1 a piece and just peeled the labels off. She filled them 3/4 Karo syrup and 1/4 water after the boys added all kinds of glitter and holiday metallic confetti stuff. (well half mixture first, then the stuff, then topped off the bottle with the mixture.) She just eyeballed the mixture amounts and they had to shake it really well to mix up the syrup and water both times. Then she sealed the cap with red electrical tape. They had a lot of fun doing it, and had their very own snow globe afterwards. They are a little heavy, but have been very sturdy - after many droppings on tile floor.

Home Depot has plastic snow globes that blow the snow around when you click the button. No water. They are really cute and my daughter loved them.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday in the Christmas section and bought 3 plastic snow globes that you put your own picture into. They were $3.44 each. They were hard to find and on the bottom row and if it hadn't been for my daughter finding them I wouldn't have seen them.
