Our pediatrician would NOT remove our son's planter wart. He diagnosed it, but then referred us to a pediatric dermatologist. The cost was going to be outrageous...so we bought the otc freeze off stuff. It worked like a charm.
Hello ladies!!
I just noticed yesterday my 3 1/2 year old has a planter wart on her foot... I know she will not keep the OTC meds on her foot, what would you guys do, take her to the dr and have him freeze it? Thanks in advance!!!

I would take her to the DR to get it looked at. Planters warts can be contagious and can be spread by walking barefoot at the pool or in showers.

Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar. Put it on the wart and cover it with a bandaid, make sure it's completely sealed all around the cotton ball. Then put a sock on her and put her to bed. Do this every night, don't need to do anything during the day. The wart should fall off in a week or so. If she complains that it hurts skip a night or two. This worked with both my kids when they had warts on their fingers.
When my son had one the ped. said to leave it alone and it would go away--it did.
my son had these on his feet at age 11 and the treatment was an acid we put on there at night - maybe you could check into something like that.
My daughter got a wart on her foot on the heal of her foot so freezing it really wasn't an option as her doctor said it would hurt her to walk on it.. what he suggested is that after he bath or whatever you take a foot file and file it pretty good.. do that for awhile and it will heal up.. as he explained it is that warts are a virus and when you file it, it kicks the immune system in and the immune system will take care of it.. while most of the other cures are basically just for that particular wart and the chance of getting others is pretty likely, if you can get the immune system to take care of it, the chances are much smaller for them coming back..
You do however have to file pretty aggressively not that it starts to bleed or that it causes her pain just that you really cause the immune system to notice it's there.. it may sound weird but it really helped my daughter and that was over 2 years ago and never got another one.. and also what is good no scar which can also happen if they take them away..
Hi, Cheryl -
. You can buy OTC freeze medicine - but with the doctor's is much stronger and can probably take care of it with one treatment vs mutiple with the OTC.
Just get in quickly while it's still small. =-)
Good luck!
