Plantar Warts - Abbeville,LA

My husband keeps getting Plantar warts on his foot. He had 2 of them already removed and now has 2 more. They are very painful. This is all in a matter of about 6-8 months. It has costs us about $250 for each one already and not sure how much it would be to have 2 at the same time removed. We do have insurance, but a really high deductible, so it's basically "out-of-pocket" for us. We are on a tight budget. Does anyone know of any home remedies or suggestions? Thanks so much

I used Oil of Oregano on one that my daughter had. I would put in on the wart & put a bandaid on it twice daily & use clippers a couple of times a week to get the little black seeds out. It took almost 2 months to get rid of but it worked. You can google Oil of Oregano to see all the different properties it has.

Garlic got rid of mine! I had them coming back for years. He can just take capsules. it's cheap, and the garlic is good for you anyway. :)

I asked this question a little while back, and the mom's recommended apple cider vinegar, soaking a cotton ball wrap over night, exfoliate the skin, it took about 3 weeks, and it was gone!

Tea tree oil will also work. Like others it might take a few weeks but should get rid of them.

My daughter has a big one on her foot not long ago. We tried the over the counter stuff and it did not work. I took her to the doctor and he told us to get the Compound W band-aids with acylic (sp?) acid 40% on them and put those on her foot. He said every time she showered to use an emery board to file away the dead skin and put another band-aid on it. Repeat this process until it is gone. It took about 3 weeks, but it worked. She has not had another one.

What makes these suckers so hard to get rid of is that they're aused by a virus. I had them all over my feet a few years ago, and they had become painful. There are over-the-counter remedies you can find in the rx section of your grocery story or at the pharmacy. But eventually, I was referred to a dermatologist who gave me some sort of patch. He applied it to the under side of the middle of my arm and removed it about 30 min. later. It stimulated an immune response and cured me. I had them for about a year off and on...and severely for about 5 months. That was 3 years ago & not one since.

It depends on how deep they are, I suffered from them greatly in Highschool and college being on the diving team, I waited till I was done being in the water and public pools on a daily basis till removing them as they would just come back over and over again, If they are deep freezing them off is the best route, I don't think it would be more expensive by much if you have a couple done at once, you are just paying for the doctors slot basically. Duct tape works well for small ones, but you have to scrap off the top layer of skin first, and then scrap off the wart after you are done, Google duct tape removal of plantars warts. Warts spread through water the best so public pools the bath tub etc. He can reduce the chance of them spreading by wearing shoes when walking in water. I feel for him as they are bad. Oh and if he has any on his heals I never ever had luck with getting those off with just take only freezing.

Soak the feet to soften the skin. Take an old toothbrush and gently brush the area around the wart, trying to expose the core/root. Dab a little Compound W on the wart and cover with duct tape. Leave alone for a few days. Repeat this process until the wart is gone (it may take a few applications).

My son recently had O. and we used duct tape. It took several weeks but the black part came out eventually. However it seems to be coming back and I'm thinking about using O. of the freeze-off kits from the drug store now.
