My mom was on Nutrisystem and when she was done she gave me all her left over food. My mom lost alot of weight on it and I had enough food for a month and lost 15lbs. I like not fixing my own food except for salads and they pretty much told you what and how much to eat. No real planning, so I liked it..alittle lazy :) Its been awhile and I did keep the weight of and it did teach me portion sizes and I got use to eating salads. GL

I recommend picking up the book YOU! On a Diet by Dr.Mehmet Oz and Dr.Michael Roizen. Fantastic book...you will learn alot about how to lose weight the healthy way and KEEP it off. Its really funny so you don't have to worry about being too bored to make it through the book. They help you restructure What you eat and the Way you eat in a way that's healthy and doesn't involve you starving yourself to death. I've recommended it to friends, just to find out they're reading it too. The best part is, they give you your complete shopping list to get you started and lots of YUMMY recipes :)

I just recently started the Sonoma Diet. I was able to check the book out at the library (they had several copies) and it seems to be working pretty well. I have already lost about 8 lbs. What I like about this diet is that it seems to be very healthy (unlike some of the low carb diets) and you don't really feel like you are on a diet. The focus is on eating nutritious foods and keeping portions to the right size. This diet really is more of a lifestyle change than a strict diet, which is exactly what I needed since I perpetually would eat all the wrong things.

You also need to exercise, as this will increase your metabolism and help you lose weight. I do exercise videos in my living room after my son goes to bed, but you can do whatever you like. I like to alternate strenghth building and aerobic exercies. If you are truly serious about losing weight, exercise needs to be a part of the plan.

Good luck!

My recommendation would be 5-6 HEALTHY small portion, low cal, low fat, low sugar, meals a day. Don't starve yourself or completely deprive yourself of anything (except fast food). And KNOW WHAT YOUR EATING, if you eat out anywhere there's a good chance you’re getting A LOT more than you realize. I don't believe in diet fads or gimmicks just eat healthy, exercise, and don't skip meals ESPECIALLY BREAKFAST! Also there's allot to be said for a positive attitude. Know you can lose weight, that your worth it, don't do it for anyone but yourself, and don't beat yourself up if you don't progress as quickly as you'd like, just take it as a sign that you need to do just a little more than your currently doing. Stick with it and you'll do fine. Oh, and don't think of it as a diet, just change your eating and exercising habits, a diet you can cheat on, if you change, you either do or don't.

WEIGHT WATCHERS!!! It works, it really works....I've lost 10 pounds already in 5 or 6 weeks cant remember how long exactly.... I know it sounds slow.... but that's 2 pounds a week...if I continue at this rate... by summer I'll be in a bikini... 175~ now 165.... summer is 12 weeks away.... that's 24 more pounds at this rate.... 165-24 is 141. You can even lose up to three pounds a week. Not bad. not bad at'tall. It is fail safe.... although you HAVE to stick to it for it to work effectively.. It's either maintain your weight or drop it.
