Hi M.!
I heard about this lady on Oprah that has a cook book with ways to sneek veggies in. I think if you go on her website you should be able to find it. I want to get the book and then we can share it!

My son is 5 and the only thing he eats is....meat and bread. He does have some food allergies and can not have any dairy. But I don't want him to be afraid anymore that we have answers why food made him sick before. It has been now a year, he helps in the kitchen and helps make meal menu's for the week but I am so over having the same thing over and over or having to make something always different. I fear he will never eat a veggie. I know I am not to make food an issue as they are learning table manners and so much more plus at this age I am choosing my battles. Any Suggestions? Does anyone else have a picky eater? I tried to remove snacks but his snacks are not bad as he hates sugar. I thought it was a control issue but I no longer believe that. Well if you have any advise I would be grateful. Thanks.

It sounds like you are doing it right. Have you checked out the Sneaky Chef as a way to get vegetables into his diet. I would also start introducing other foods that you want to eat (that he can safely eat) and make a rule that he at least try it. Continue to serve vegetables (try various way to make it)and ask for a couple bites. Always include something he likes. They say it takes sometimes 20 times to get a kid to try things (I assume it's the same for an infant as a older child). Just start to widen what you are cooking but include something you know he'll eat and see if that works.
Have you ever watched: Honey We're Killing the Kids on TLC. It has some great ideas on getting kids back on a nutritious diet and exercise for a healthier life.
Good luck

I think you are doing exactly the right thing! Our son was the same way and he eats just fine now! They really tend to eat what they need. The stomach is very smart!
I am also allergic to milk. I have found that most people are not allergic to rice, so it's rice milk for me. Most kids want to do what you are doing so try eating a fruit or veggie for your snack and if he wants, give him a bite. It just might take some time so don't give up. It might just work.
Have your tried Morning Star soy products? They look just like meat and my kids (and even my husband) sometimes doesn't know the difference. You can use a ground beef substitute in spaghettie and other things that he won't notice. Give it a try, it worked for me.
One thing I have done with my kids is tell them that I am not running a resturant at my house. If they want to eat. they have to eat what is served. I would serve lots of fruits and vegatables as finger foods and things that would be easy to eat and attractive to kids. Make a limit on what they can eat and how long they have to sit at the table even if they are not eating. Being together as a family makes a difference and knowing that other people do eat the foods that he doesn't like may change his attitude. Maybe you could let your child help you plan the menus. Make meals time fun, but not the only focus. Have fun and good luck. Kids are only little once.
