Photos Printed as "Yearbooks" and Online Journaling

OK moms, I want to do better with organizing and printing my photos and memories this year. Crafty scrapbooking is not for me, I've learned, because I just don't have the time. And I know this sounds silly, but the last thing I want to do on my days off is spread a bunch of art supplies all over my dining table that I will later have to clean up.

So I want to give "online scrapbooking" a try. I think I will enjoy how clean and simple it is. But I haven't a clue where to start.

What recommendations do you have for online scrapbooking? Specifically, I think I want to be able to upload photos, add designs and/ or captions, and have the whole thing printed as a hardbound "yearbook" type piece that is full color and nice paper. I do not want to print the pages myself on my home printer.

Also, I am wondering if there is a website that does something similar with online journals? I have heard of LiveJournal.com and Wordpress, and I am looking into both.

Thanks in advance for your input! Happy New Year!

Online scrapbooking is awesome. If you want complete flexibility in designing your pages and access to thousands of digital scrapbooking art pieces (so you don't have to buy them all), you need to check out Heritage Makers. Plus there are thousands of templates that are editable (including family yearbook templates) - you can start with a completed book and change any element on any page to make it yours! It is very fun to use!
Their books are very high quality in print and binding too.

I have been online scrapbooking for years and I LOVE It!!! I love them for my own home and they make the best gifts. Winkflash is hard to maneuver and kind of old, Shutterfly is good, but Snapfish is my favorite! They have tons of layouts and ideas and are relatively inexpensive. They also work with Coke Rewards. So if you or anyone you know drinks Coke products, you can collect the points on their bottle caps and it adds up to free Snapfish books! If you use your Coke Rewards along with a free shipping coupon, which they do often, you can get a 20 page hardback "yearbook" style of book for $2!

I would recommend smilebox by Hallmark. Me and my friends use it. You can pick themes and music for a digital scrapbook. A friend of mine put together an album for everyone after our new year's eve party. We had it the afternoon of new year's day. They are pretty simple to put together. Kodak allows you to send in pics to make hard back books of your photos. These are really keepsake books on vellum paper.

I'm with you- not interested in the scrap booking mess and the books are so huge when you are finished. I do all of my albums online on Kodakgallery.com . Very easy, you can add captions and borders - but not much else. I find the simplicity available makes it easier for me- not as many choices means I get it done quicker!
Good luck.

Creative memories is the easiest. Not sure about cost. If you want a dealer's contact, I can give you one or you can go online and find a dealer near you. I have done business with mine for 10 years!! The books are very good quality!!

I just made some calendars using Picasa. Its a free download through Google. It's pretty basic but it did a great job for what i wanted. I selected the print size (8x10) and had a canvas that size to add pictures to. After that i could save them to a .jpg file and have them printed where ever i wanted. I used Vistaprint and got calendars for the family for between $10 and $20 each.
