I am considering hiring a photographer for my 3 year olds birthday party. In past years I have just taken them myself, but I feel like I miss so much of the party because I am busy taking photos. I am looking for is someone to come to the party for about 2 hours, take some snapshots, then give me a CD with the photos. I don't need any editing done. Do any of you all have any ideas where I could find someone to do this for me? Maybe a photography student?

He has done a LOT of sports action stuff, but his photos of his grandchildren---candids---are wonderful. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

I highly recommend Jessica Karlinski. She's a mom of 2 young ones in Plano and we met through a playgroup -- our older kids are both 3.5. Anyhow, she was the mom who always took the most amazing photos at all the birthday parties (and baby showers, MNOs, etc)... The rest of us usually just put away our cameras and got copies of her photos!
If you give her a holler, please let her know that M. referred you. :)
Hi A.,
Wow! Great responses. I have worked with Jill Labor of Live, Laugh, Love Photography (in fact, she's on Mamasource), and a mother as well. Does wonderful and extremely unique photography. Her number is ###-###-####. Good luck.
Do you have friends that like to take pictures? I ask friends to take pictures at my parties and send me a link to the photos. I also take my camera along to every brithday party and always take pictures because I understand that dilema, then load them up to www.walgreens.com and send a link to the parents. Enjoy his big day!

My daughter is the photo editor for our school in McKinney. She has access to a canon digital SLR camera and she manually works the settings for the appropriate lighting. She is 16 and motivated to work for gas money. If you could agree on a price for the "job" I think you would be pleased. She has won several photography awards at school, Jostens photo seminars, and the Heard Museum.

You might want to check the colleges and talk to photography students. We have used them in the past and it has been a win/win for everyone. They are not nearly as expensive as professional photographers, it gives them experience and it freed us up so we could enjoy the event.
I use Sara Knowles and she is great and reasonable on pricing. Her # is ###-###-####
My friend Harmony Bays is going to school for photography and a mom of 3 boys =). She would love to help you out!

My son is a senior in high school - he does awesome video with a professional camera. I have a talent of taking photos, especially kids. We'd be happy to do a package for you of video with photos. He can put the slide show on the DVD with video. Since he's starting out, his prices are very reasonable so he can get more business through word of mouth. Email me if you are interested - ____@____.com
Call my good friend, Leslie Burns, with Burning Visions Photography. I'm not sure what her availability is, but she is EXCELLENT with children! And I am sure she will work with your budget. ###-###-####
We use Heather with Chunky Monkey Photography. We first used her for our twins 1st birthday party for the same reason you are looking. That was in Feb., and we have used her a few times since. She is awesome and reasonable. Just let her know what you are wanting and she will probably work something out. Anyhow, here's her info.:

Hi A.! My name is L. and I have just started my own Photography business, Memoirs Photography. Some of the jobs I have done have been where I have just taken photos during birthday parties, so that parents don't have to worry about it.
I then put all the picutres of a CD and you are free to take them to Wal-Mart of Walgreens and print out the ones you like best.
Give me a call if this is something you are interested in and we can talk about a price. ###-###-#### or email me at: ____@____.com
Have a good day.
