My best friend has Mirena in place for 2 1/2 years and has the same thing! I dont have mirena and have the same thing!
I have a mirena and have for about 3 years and was wondering does anyone else get "phantom baby kicks"? Sometimes I swear I feel a little person in there fluttering and kicking around but I know better. I keep thinking this could just be gas or muscle spasms but I swear thats what it feels like!

I'm 99% sure that it's gas or just food moving throught your intestinal tract, it definitely mimicks the feeling of a baby~~so you arent crazy thinking that ;)
You would never notice it probably if you hadn't already had a child and know what that sensation feels like. I still get it and I'm old. I just sort of smile when I feel it as it brings back good memories of carrying my babies.
That is too funny. Before I had kids I am sure I had the same things, but never noticed it! Now I feel them often. I loved the response from the mom who mentioned the show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant." :)
Me too! Thought I was the only one, and that i might end up on 'I didn't know I was pregnant' or something... good to know!! This is why I love this site.
yeah I get these too! I even felt cramps like I was in labor again! It is crazy, but apparantly normal since so many others have felt them. I am talking about the phantom kicks, not labor pains...dunno if anyone else has felt them or if it is just me.
i have had two kids and i always feel phantom kicks. It makes me laugh cause I know it's just gas or food digesting but it sure feels like the real deal right?
I thought I was the only one! I totally get the phantom kicks now and then and if I didn't know better....
Oh I know this one too. always thinking there is something kicking, but thers not obviously. Makes me miss, though, those days. Seeing him move around and kick and what not. But yeah. your not alone on this at all. :)
I had a mirena, but have since had it removed and I have had the phantom kicks with and without the mirena. It does bring a smile because of the memories it stirs up. I don't care if it is really food or gas or whatever. I consider it a little reminder to count my two blessings running around the house!
I have had those before (and I take the Pill). I don't get them as much anymore which kind of makes me sad. Our family is large enough but I never tired of those baby kicks!
I have the mirena (on my second one) and I have 2 kids. I too sometimes feel the "phantom baby kicks". I don't think its from the birthcontrol, but its is wierd when it happens. I am certain its just gas or muscle spasms (like you said)...but I smile when it happens because I won't ever feel that real baby kick again. Its just a reminder of when there were there. :)
