Usually your period can be irregularly for about 1 year after putting in the Mirena. Three weeks on a period is annoying. You may want to call and leave a message for your ob/gyn to be rest assured. Meanwhile keep a menstrual diary tracking your flow (spotting, heavy, none).

I would definately call the Dr to see what is going on. I have the same IUD - mine was put in last year in August so I have had it just over a year now. My periods were very heavy and I had unusually long periods (sometimes months at a time with and hour or two break from heavy bleeding) I have had very short to mostly non-existant periods since I had the IUD put in. They were more regular when I first got it but after about 6 months it got very light and now I may get a day or two of light spotting.

My ObGyn says to call if you bleed for more than 10 days. I do not have an iud and have bled for 3 weeks due to perimenopause and once due to an ovarian cysts. If you have no pain you are probably OK (both my long periods came with severe cramps) but I would call the doctor and speak with a nurse to just run it by them.

I've had them for 14 days before, it is annoying!! Mine are VERY light though. When I had my last checkup, I asked about the 14 days. They said it was ok, as long as it was really light, no abnormal heavy bleeding or clots, and I barely have cramps.
