Period Time and I Can't EAT! :(

Hi ladies,

It seems every month I struggle with many things while on my period. Usually the week before is when I get so many odd cravings. Once I get my period, I have no cravings and do not want to eat anything. I just ate ice cream because that's all I could handle. I don't even like ice cream (agh I know!). I feel so tired and just want to sleep all the time. Does anyone go through the not hungry stage on their period? Any suggestions? I have soup in the fridge, but I don't even feel like eating that. I usually eat very well and have a great appetite. This just stinks! LOL!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I go through the same thing as you, its very frustrating. I usually force myself to eat peanut butter toast, and sip milk. And usually I keep Ensure drinks on hand too because at least then I am getting something in my stomache that has protein and vitamins.

YES, I feel like I am on an eating roller coaster sometimes. During my period I have no desire to eat whatsoever - it is tough because I have to cook for everyone and it is hard to cook when you have no desire to eat. The week before I usually want sweet stuff and junk. I have another one to add in, yes I am tired during my period but by the night time rolls around I am wide awake and end up sleeping badly. I am usually very very tired right after my period. I feel like there is only about two weeks in a month when I am normal :( periods suck but then again I like the reassurance every month that body is doing what it is supposed to be doing.

Hormones can do some strange things to you. Sometimes I go through the not wanting to eat and I definately have the tiredness. I would speak to your doc, maybe he can recommend something.

The same thing happens to me. My doctor said it's all the hormone fluctuations. I just eat what I can and don't worry about it. I know I won't starve (hahaha). Some months I get so tired I don't feel like I can move. I try to rest and take naps as often as possible though it's not always possible. Midol helps with that some.

I didn't know that others suffered from this too! It's so nice to know I'm not alone!

Before my baby, every period I got sick for about 24 to 48 hours. Everything I ate I threw up. Eat what you can and sleep. Normally if you are tired, it is your body trying to tell you something.
