I will soon be relocating to San Diego and looking for a good pediatrician for my young kids. My kids respond best to women drs and I prefer someone who has children. Any recommendations on who to go to or advice on who to avoid? Thanks.
Dr. Genevieve Parsons at Children's Primary in La Jolla on Girard. ###-###-####. She takes her time and gives each patient a lot of attention. She has 2 kids also.
Dr.Gee-Lew, Dr.Krause and Dr.Sepulveda are great! Located in Hillcrest-all in one office, I don't live anywhere near there and drive completely out of my way since they are so great!!
We see Dr. Whitney Edwards at Children's Healthcare Associates on Washington Street in Hillcrest. She does not have kids, but is great. Dr. Tami Nakahara there is also great and she does have children.
We used to have Dr. Hansen at Children's, he was great. The only reason we don't have him anymore is because of insurance changes. If you are interested I can find the address and give you more specifics.
I had a preemie and he was very good with him. :) My neighbors go to him too.

Don't know if you have Kaiser or will live in the South Bay, but the BEST pediatrictian is Dr. Kathleen Jones, at Otay Mesa Kaiser. She has 3 boys, 2 in college, 1 still in HS, she is FANTASTIC, great with the kids & very well informed. She totally respects my views about spacing the shots out, not getting the chicken pox shot until they HAD to to get into public school, I just love her!!
