I am a first time mom getting ready to deliver this September. I have decided I would like to follow a delayed vaccination schedule and am looking for any recommendations on a Pediatrician in the Fort Worth/Arlington area that supports this.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We chose to go with Dr. Fikkert in Arlington, she's wonderful and we would recommend her to anyone! Thanks for all of your feedback.

I have an entire list of docs that will work out a vaccination schedule to your specifications. Some are in FW and in Arlington. I don't have personal experience with any of them. We went to a homeopathic nurse practitioner in Denton. Here are a few, Dr Frank McGehee, FW ###-###-####, Dr. Binh Nguyen FW ###-###-####, or Sharon Dennis Arlington ###-###-####. Please let me know if any of these are NOT what you are looking for, and I'll take them off the list. Best Regards, S. Kahmann, ____@____.com

Dr Fikkert is wonderful! We interviewed her prior to the birth of our son and she was perfect for us. She is a DO not an MD so she tries to always solve the problem without the use of drugs if possible. Her number is ###-###-#### - give her office a call and schedule a meeting.

I don't know of one, but I don't know why they wouldn't do it. Most just want to be assured that you are going to show up every month to get that shot, which is hard to make yourself do. Mine won't see people who won't vaccinate, but it didn't say anything about a delay. Try Forest Park pediatrics, close to downtown FW. ###-###-#### and ask which docs are taking new patients and if they will accomodate your wishes. You never know until you ask, but all of the docs in this practice are fabulous - and I am very picky. Good luck!

Hi H.,

You may not get a lot of responses, as it seems there are very few of us delaying vacs.

I found it is best to have your schedule written out, and take it with you to interview the pediatricians. They will make you sign a waiver-which really stinks-it makes you feel crappy, but stick with your gut!

I can tell you a couple of pedi's in Keller, but can't help you with FW/Arl.

Good luck, and great job thinking about what you feel will be best for your baby!

Feel free to send me a personal message if you have more questions about my experience with this.

Dr. Frank McGehee he is with the Cook's system. He is great and will let you delay vaccinations, but he does ask you to sign some paperwork. He is located in Fort Worth off of bryant irving.
