My youngest is in need of a full eye exam. She had one when she was younger, but that practice closed down. We are in Keller, I would prefer an eye doc in the Keller/Southlake/Grapevine areas. That said, I would be willing to travel for a REALLY good doc. Specifically, if you know of one who works well with special needs kids. My youngest has autism, sensory issues, etc. I need a doc who is calm, kind, patient, and good with kids.

I took my sons to Dr. Beauchamp at Grapevine Baylor but in the building across from the main hospital building.
He is grandfatherly and sort of seriuos but good with my sons.

Dr. Jennifer Garner would be my choice for Optometrist if you are not needing surgery of any kind, etc. Surgery would be one reason to choose an Opthomologist. Dr. Beauchamp at Grapevine Baylor is the Doc. we refer patients to. Since I am answering from home I do not have the names of others in the clinic that our Doctors admire.
Other advice, when you make an appointment please advise the staff of your daughters condition. They should plan for the visit with extra staff, time, etc. Please plan to accompany your daughter in all phases of the exam to ensure accuracy.

I liked Dr. Beauchamp as well, however he is an Ophthalmologist, not optometrist. My daughter saw him for a condition called intermittent exotropia. I don't know if you were looking for a specifice kind of dr. or not.
My daughter is not special needs but she goes too Dr. Everett Moody in Irving. He was very good with her as she was very scared and he was highly recommended by my pediatrician. The office was very kid friendly and they even have a boutique with eye glasses for kids. He was very open and honest with and explained to us why my daughter had to have such a high prescription. I took he to get a reg. eye check up and the eye doctor couldn't explain my 6 year old was +5 in one eye and +4 in the other. He has offices in Ft. Worth, Irving and Arlington.
