Hi K.,
For the fact that they are just kintergarden, that where the luck is. You could either make it easier with some island printed paper plates, inexpensive little things because these are children that don't really care too much for luaus or take any things you might go out of your way to put together. They will just appreciate food, cake, ice-cream, fun and good times, balloons, etc. The main thing is, your son will appreciate it. If you are able to find some card board coconut palms, decorative papers, etc but not to spend too much money on them (Wal-Mart or K-Mart), you will be able to come up with a theme, "E KOMO MAI." "WELCOME." or just plain "ALOHA." Wal-Mart music section has children's luau music section that will also help you out with the fun if you are planning on a music part...It's the little things that will make a big difference :)

Aloha!
You are invited to an end of the year luau at ____________'s island paradise. Come join us for some tropical fun in the sun! Activities will include learning to hula, limbo stick, surfing, and sand castle building.
Date:_____________________________
Place:____________________________
Time:_____________________________
RSVP by___________at______________

You can buy an island music kids cd, hula skirts and leis, a limbo stick(most of the Drew's Kids Party Mixes have the limbo), Moon Sand for the castles(it never dries out), and have a surfboard on the grass for pretend "Surfing" and use this to take each kids picture as a memory of the party. You can also have a tiki coloring contest, and the kids can make tropical paper plate fish using markers, paint, and glitter. Have fun and enjoy!

Aloha girls and boys,

You are invited to a luau party! Get ready to hang loose, do the hula and have some fun. Hope to see you there, yah?

Mahalo(thank you).

Wear your flip flops and anything hawaiian. Pass out leis at the door (box of 50 sells for 9.99 at party city).

Just some thoughts to get you started.
