Parting Gift for Our MANNY

Mamas & Papas -

May 1 is around the corner. While we love our manny, and will be sad to see him go, we have enrolled DS in a part time full day daycare. 2 days a week in May, 3 days a week as of June. DS is becoming more sociable, and we thought that he would enjoy the interaction. Plus the more regimented environment might help promote the use of words and other skills.

In any event, we want to give the manny a nice parting gift, and were thinking of a gift certificate to STUB HUB, as he's said he makes use of it to buy tix to Islanders and Yankees games. Is this a good choice? Is there anything else we should consider.

More about our Manny -
He's a close personal friend, single, in his early 30s.

More about us,
I work full time, hubs is nearly graduating law school. We are blessed and fortunate to have my parents available and willing to split childcare responsibilities, previously with the manny, and soon with the daycare.

More about our son-
He's lovely, 19 months old. And thinks it s hilarious when mommy drums on her belly when teaching him the names of parts of the body.

Thanks a bunch
F. B.

How about an excellent letter of recommendation for his next job (if he is going to be a manny for someone else)?
What other things does he like and go from there.

I say just buy him some tickets wrapped up with a hat with his favorite team logo. Seems much more personal than a gift card.

If that is something that he would get use of then go for it. Sounds like its somethign he would like.

I would include a thank you "project" from your family/your son in addition to the gift certificate...and of course, the letter of recommendation (if this is something he is going to continue to pursue).
