The best cheap diapers are Target! And the Wal-greens brand is pretty good too... The Parent's choice ones always leaked
Just curious how many of you actually buy and use Parents Choice Formula and Diapers. Currently we are using Symalac for forumula and Huggies for diapers. My husband would like to try the Parents Choice because mainly it's cheaper than what we currently buy. Just trying to get some opinions on what others think about the products. Thanks! :)

You have a lot of opinions but I thought I'd add that I totally support the generics! We used Target brand formula and loved it, plus it was so much cheaper!!! I would only suggest that no matter what brand you choose just stick to it. They are comprable across the board but have little differences in them so find one you like and stick with it. It can be hard on the baby to switch formulas a lot. Diapers just depend on the kid. I would try a small pack and if they work for you then stock up! My daughter could only do Huggies and my son Luv's, the store brand seemed to leak for me, but for some it doesn't.
All of the makes are excellent out there, but here are my favorites.
Good start, because is highly recommended for babys with troubled tummies. It's very gentle for digestion. It's also recommended for breastfed babies as a supplement.
Pampers cruisers, I buy them in bulk at Sam's. Just for fun touch the inside of the diaper, the pampers feel the most soft and most fluffy.
I used the formula for both my kids and liked it. The only difference I saw was that the parents choice wasn't as finely ground and took a little longer to mix. Not a bad tradeoff for half the cost in my book. :) I also liked the parents choice wipes. I found them to be thicker than the Huggies so, I actually prefered them over the Huggies wipes. As for the diapers, I was not impressed with them. I ended up using Luvs for my older son. They were the same price per diaper as the Parents Choice, but the quality was better. With my second son I found out about the "Subscribe and Save" from Amazon. It is an auto shipment program that ships them out to you monthly and you save 30% plus free shipping. they send you an email a week before the shipment is scheduled so you can cancel or change your order (size, quantity, ect).
I like the wipes and the diapers are passable. Not sure about the formula...Don't like that idea if you can avoid it...Make sure you are getting samples from your pediatrician which they give freely. Call Similac for coupons and look on Ebay. I bought formula on Ebay and saved a ton of money. It was safe..cans came and were in new condition no tampering.
I used the parents choice diapers. Look at the per diaper cost differance. It's crazy. They were fine. I have never had any issues with leaking or gapping or irritation.
My daughter (now 4 yrs) was raised almost totally on Costco's Kirkland brand formula & diapers. House brands are fine. They are produced by major manufacturers at half the costs since no advertising budget needed.
Both of my girls did better on parents choice gentle then on ANY/ALL of the expensive formulas. My suggestion is to buy a small can and try it for a day or two to see how your baby does.
In terms of diapers, I think it just depends on your little one. My oldest would "blow out" or leak out of every kind of diaper except Pampers Cruisers. My 2nd can use any diaper successfully so we happily buy Parents Choice! I recommend buying a small pack, trying it out, and if it work--great; if not, go back to your Huggies. Good luck!
Parent Choice formula and wipes I liked better than Similac. I used them for all of my kids. The diapers I did use them, because they were cheaper when the babies were younger. once they hit about 9mo they no longer held the wetness in and my kids would leak after one time going. Then I switched to Luvs. A little more in price but worked so much better and still cheaper than Huggies
** I seen that one of the mom's bff ped told her not to buy the generic stuff... my ped told me the opposite. She told me they all have to meet the same requirement. Our hospital and ped office also stopped giving "free samples" because they felt that the formula companies were just trying to buy the clinics for thier own business gain.
Read the ingredients. I believe they are basically the same. My inlaws used to buy Target brand because it was the same as Enfamil but way cheaper.
I love the Walgreens brand diapers. They run them on sale 2/$9.99 for the jumbo packs. We have never had any problems with them either. I actually purchased so many this past February that I am just now on my last pack. :( I don't wanna buy any more.
I normally use cloth diapers, but my parents just watched my kids for a week while hubby and I took a much needed vacation :) We bought Parent's Choice diapers for the week. I hadn't used them in awhile, they have redesigned them recently and I really liked them. Wide, stretchy tabs, no leaking. It would not hurt to get at least one package and give them a try.
I never used formula either, but as an OB nurse, and working with lots of ped drs, I know the generic is as nutritious as the brand names. Just be sure you can get a comparable type (if you are using a lactose-free formulation, "gentle/sensitive", soy, hypoalergenic, etc, etc). The generics even have the newer supplements like DHA/ADA, and offer organic versions, so you are not making any compromises by going with generic, just saving money!
I actually prefer Parent's Choice diapers or Target brand to Huggies -- not just for the price but they also don't get "squishy" when they have pee in them! My son also has skin reactions to Huggies and Pampers -- but not to the generics. Nothing major, but I can see redness on his skin when we have used name brand.
I use enfamil formula but We do use Parents Choice Diapers and they are great!! I love them I have a son and he never leaks out of them and they can hold alot for when he sleeps at night and the best part... They're only $13.97 for 96 : )
The diapers are just getting better and better. I was happy with the box i just bought.....cute design. They rarely leak!
You may already know this but you can get Similac at Costco for half the price of what you get outside at GRocery stores.....they have huggies too but we use Pampers so I am not sure about the cost of huggies..........do check with your paediatrician before changing formulas
My BFFs ped told her not to use the generic formulas because he didn't like some of the cheaper additives. But who knows?? Perhpas it was hurting the price of his stock in infant formula - haha!!
I haven't been able to tell any difference between Parent's choice and regular huggies/pampers/luvs except the price.
My Ped says there is no difference w/ the formula and I'd ur child can tolerate it u can use it. I also have found the generic @ target and sam's is cheap and workds :)
As for the diapers- we had a lot of problems w/ leaking but my kid also had problems w/ huggies so I guess it depends on the kid. We used pampers until we found target brand and they are GREAT!
I used Parents Choice Sensitive formula with my last son and it worked just fine. The ingredients are almost identical. Here is a recent article regarding their comparisons.

I still use Parents Choice diapers. They just made some changes to them and are better than ever. I have personally had no issues with them. They do not leak any worse than any other diaper I have used. It was a no brainer for us when we did the cost comparison.
We use LUVS for diapers,a dn CVS brand formula. We buy both online through Amazon Moms. Our little one hasn't had any adverse reaction to either so we consider our frugal selves lucky.
I've used both and had no problems and it defnitely saved me a ton of money. I use Target club pack diapers now though and they are the cheapest I've found of any brand and they work great for me.
I have tried the Parents Choice diapers with both of my children and hated them! They leak when the child pees and they dont stretch very well at all. Every time my little girl wet the diaper, I would have to change her clothes as well ( and sometimes ended up having to take the carseat apart and wash it too!) I LOVE Luvs diapers!! They were a favorite with both my kids. Hope this helps.
