Yesterday I had a docotor's appointment for my papsmear and while he was doing it he said he saw alittl irriation and inflammation. Im waiting for my results and alittle nervous about it. I just got over my period 2 days ago, could that have anything to do with it? Has this happened to anyone before?

Thank you in advance for any responses.

We do this a lot--worry about something before there is anything to worry about and even if there were something, worry would not make it go away. What that does though is make us more open to other things. Stress does not cause a disease but it lowers our resistance and then a disease is more likely to take hold. Think of it as dis-ease--we are not at ease with ourselves. I was watching a video with Bruce Lipton and Wayne Dyer and they were talking about someone that had gotten an x-ray and they found a black spot on his lungs. A while latter that person died. Someone looked at one of this person's x-rays from 20 years prior and that same black spot was on the x-ray. I think we and doctors can scare ourselves to death. Think positively, laugh, breathe, have fun and know that your body has an amazing ability to heal. Cross bridges when you come to them and even then, a positive attitude goes a long way to helping us heal.

You could have something as simple as a yeast infection. Around our periods our pH levels change which could cause a yeast infection or other irritation. This has happened to me before. Try not to stress...

I could be that you body was just preparing for the start of your period. But may I suggest that if he finds anything to get a second opinion right away. My sister did not and i think she went through somethings that she should not have. You need to have a doctor who is up on all the resent procedures. And do not be afraid to do some research of your own.

I will pray all is Ok.

Yes. They actually prefer for you to wait until a week or two after your period to conduct a pap smear. Often times it messes up the results.

Sometimes the extra moisture from the period can cause a mild rash or as others have suggested a yeast infection. Both very minor, very normal, and most likely nothing to worry about.
