Paint on Carpet and Baseboard

Help! My 4 year old helped my husband paint the nursery this weekend and got paint on the baseboards and carpet. I need to know if anyone has an suggestions on how to get it off. The baseboards are a stained wood color, not white, and I'd prefer to keep them that way rather than painting them all white.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thankfully a product called Goo Gone worked wonders! (But boy does it stink!)

My husband's a painter, and he said to put some warm water on it with a damp rag (I'm assuming it was a latex pain, I doubt you'd be letting your 4-year-old play in oils!). That should loosen it up to where you can chip it off. If that doesn't work, you'll have to use Goof-off, which will dull the sheen on your stain.

I don't know of anything that will get it out of carpet, esp. if it is dry--can you 'trim' around it if it's not much? But you might try magic erasers or fingernail polish remover to get the paint off the baseboards, but you might have to restain it. That's just a bad situation! Good luck!
