Ok so I have gone on COUNTLESS websites, and each and every one give me a different answer. Are there any ladies who can help me? Besides monitoring my temperature every morning, what other signs are there of ovulation? I am always on time with my birth control, but this month didnt fill the prescription. We will be happy either way if we get pregnant, or if we dont. Im just wondering what are the chances and when did I ovulate?
My cycles are usually 29-31 days long and my last period started on April 24. Is it 12-16 days from the start? Or the end day? What day would I be ovulating? And when is a good time to take a pregnancy test? Thanks ladies..

What can I do next?

Hi N....I can help out on this. You ovulate about 14 days prior to your cycle...so its kind of a hindsight thing. A few things...first...you will need to monitor your cervical mucus...it should start out thick and creamy in the beginning and then slowly get milkier and then it should get clear and VERY stretchy. When you reach the clear stage...that is when you are ovulating. You can also use ovulation predictor sticks...they look like pregnancy tests and work in a similar fashion. You would start them around day 9 of your cycle and take one a day. When the line starts getting dark like the control line you are ovulating. I never found the temp method to be very accurate. Good Luck!

Check with your OB/GYN.

Other signs of ovulation are: cramping, opaque vaginal discharge that evolves to a texture like that of egg-whites.

You can also try buying an ovulation detector test.

It might take time, being you were on the pill and just stopped. The body may be changing.

Check with your Doc. He/she should have all the answers.
Good luck,
~Susan

We went thru fertility treatments for almost 4 years, and never used the ovulation sticks, just saw the signs they told me to look for. Ok sorry for the graphicness (is that a word??) but my fertility doctor told me that when it looks like your discharge just had a big sneeze (big is the key word) your body is ready to get pregnant. It should be thick, clear, and should not be able to pull apart easily. We had 3 kids in 2 1/2 years, so what ever happened worked. Only the first of that set was done with the help of the doctor. I got 3 for the price of 1! Plus advice I will keep forever!

It really varies from person to person. A friend of mine tried for a year to get pregnant and when she bought a fertility monitor she discovered she ovulated 4 days before her period. My sister-in-law also ovulates the week prior to her period. I know when I'm ovulating because I get a thick gooey discharge, I know TMI. I would take the pregnancy test 1-2 days before you expect your period. Good luck!
