hi! I have to give a little background, I have PCOS and have taken clomid twice and the second time I became p/g but then m/c so I have a pretty good idea what it feels like while ovulating...so this time I cycled, took the ovulated and now I feel like Im ovulating, this would be day 12 if I go by the 1st day of my cycle but I have always gone by the first day of clomid which has always worked in the past so now Im wondering if there is any chance that I could be ovulating this early? any advice would be greatly appreciated! and I have used the ovulation kits and have always gotten a negative result but once blood work was done to confirm it was positive...

What can I do next?

When we were trying, the fertility specialist told us between days 12-16 were the best. I would try on days 12, 14, & 16.

Have Fun :)

The rule, without meds is that for people with a 28 day cycle they will ovulate on the 14th day after they start their period, plus or minus 3 days. So the "standard" is to ovulate day 11 to 17 - so 12 days is totally normal.

Yes you could be ovulating! I don't really know much about PCOS or the effects of Clomid on your fertility but I do know about fertility and charting/reading your cycle. Usually a woman will ovulate at around day 14 but that is not always the case. Stress and Excitement can throw your cycle off. If you are trying to get pregnant I would go for it...it can't hurt to try. Plus it is fun;)

Hi M.,
Have you tried a saliva ovulation test? If you look online you can find it...I think the one I have is called fertile focus. You can keep using it and it is much cheaper than buying and re-buying the tests from the store, especially if they are not working!
Good Luck!

I may be too uninformed about your condition and the effects of Clomid to be any help, but I ovulate on day 8-10. The way I learned it, and conceived, was to count 14 days back from the 1st day of your period (not counting that day) to determine when you last ovulated. If you're regular that can be a help. If not, its a guess, but you can't ovulate on day 14 if you only have a 24 day cycle. I used the basal method for getting and preventing pregnancy. Again, PCOS and Clomid may interrupt that cycle. Good luck1

I was on clomid for my children (PCOS) and it took 8 months for both of them. There were some months when I ovulated around day 11/12 and some months when it was more around day 14/15. With your PCOS you are going to tend to be more unpredictable. But you should count on having sex on staggered days for about a week around the ovulation time. You'll also want to have your doctor check your progesterone levels to ensure you don't miscarry in your first term. PCO is natorious for 1 trimester miscarriages due to low progestone. You can go on this now or when pregnant and stay on for whole first trimester. Check into it. Good luck mama!

I also have pcos. If you think your ovulating then go for it. With pcos I found the time chart does not work for most of us and the kits are pretty much useless. Good luck... I tried all the cycles of chlomid allowed and nothing. However after being on Glucophage for 3 years I now have two beautiful boys. It may be worth looking into. If you want more info.
