if you are not using Huggies brand, try them. i used them on all 3 of my childrena nd have NEVER has a problem.
My 8 month old daughter has started (finally) sleeping through the night on a more regular basis. She seems to be eating more for dinner and before bed. We are really happy about this, but because of the extra food/formula, she seems to be waking up in the morning, more often than not, with her diaper and the sheets soaked. Does anyone know of an overnight diaper for babies? She is tall and thin. She weighs about 17 pounds. She's in size 2 diapers and we've tried putting her in a size 3 for nighttime, but she still wets through them. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks moms!
I bought the Huggies Overnight diapers last night and Sophia woke up this morning with no leaks! Thanks for all your responses!

My daughter is 6 months old and sleeps through the night (mostly!) I put her in a size 4 diaper at night. She is leak free. I use pampers but I would also suggest trying other diapers. Pampers just seemed to work best for us.
Huggies Overnight Diapers are great for my daughter, who is 3.5 yrs old-she's daytime potty trained, but still inconsistent at night. She has never leaked through one of these.
Hi B.--double her diapers--put a 3 over the 2--that did it for me when one of my kids would have a period of heavy night wetting. For some reason it was periodic for my boy, and now he's back to a single diaper.
I use the Huggies Overnight diapers in the purple packaging. They are the only ones that worked for me. They are worth the money. No more washing sheets everyday :)
Hi B.,
If your daughter is a tummy sleeper, you might try pulling the diaper up high in the front at bedtime. This stopped my daughter from soaking through most of the time.
huggies makes an overnight diaper. They work great. Their in a purple package. Walmart doesn't carry them, but try your local grocery store.
I suggest Huggies Overnight as well. Funny though, my Walmart has them, but not the grocery store. :) Make sure they are tight enough around the waist. The elastic tabs make them so you can't get it too tight unless you are really trying.
Basically everyone is saying the same thing, but I too wanted to stress the difference the overnights made. I have been using them for a week and no leakage. The size 3 starts at 18lbs so she should be fine if you make them tight. Good Luck.
I had the same issue with my daughter, now two years old. I use G-diapers during the day because we are concerned about the environment and also because I find that they are more hygienic. Since you flush them immediately, there is no odor to worry about. For the nighttime, I use the outer (cloth) part of the G-diapers to hold up the "Goodnights" sleep diapers because, even at 2 years old, those night diapers are really big on her and the urine leaks between her legs if I don't add the G-diaper too. I started doing this since she was 6 months and she has slept through the night ever since then. Hope this is helpful.
Huggies overnight but go a size up in these as well
Huggies Overnight. I used them for my son and new use them for my daughter (she is 11 months old) and they are great. Neither leak through!! Good luck!!
Huggies Overnight diapers. We had the same problem with our babies, and this was the only diaper we found that worked. Just make sure you're getting a big enough size. 2 seems small for a 17lb. 8month old. My 8.5 month old wears size 4 (he's 21 lbs. or so.) I think it's better to wear a diaper that's bigger rather than smaller. You can fold and tape them tightly if they're big. Hope this helps!
Hi B.,
Have you tried a diaper doubler? That may help. Some people also find cloth more effective for heavy nighttime wetters.
Would your baby wake up and not be able to fall back to sleep right away if you checked her before you went to bed yourself and did a quickie diaper change if she's wet?
good luck
Being tall and thin, Pampers probably fit her better than Huggies. I've seen an extra absorbancy diaper that Pampers makes now for overnight. They also make extra absorbancy Pampers Cruisers.
We use the Huggies overnight diapers which are hard to find. We get them at babies-r-us. They are in a purple package. We have been using them for about 3 mths now. Our son is almost 19lbs right now. We love them. I hope it works out for you
I use Huggies Overnights with all three of my kids. They work great
huggies has a overnight diaper and they start at size 3.
You can also use diaper doublers which are essentially big maxi pads that you stick inside the diaper.
I would try putting her in the next size up and see how that goes. My daughter is in a size 4 during the day but we just started her in a size 6 at night. She was soaking through the size 5s and it seems to be working. Good luck!
Huggies Overnights - there is nothing better! I love them!!!
First of all, I love your "a little about me" section - (until I win the lottery)! Love the positive thinking!!! Me too.
Anyhow, my son is only 5 months, but sleeps long stretches, too. He's long & skinny also and I cloth diaper exclusively. I use bumGenius one size diapers mainly & I love love love them. At night, I double the inserts up to prevent leaks. They come with a regular insert and a newborn insert, so I use both. They are also adjustable so that you can make them fit your baby well. I know cloth isn't for everyone, but I have no trouble with washing and keeping up with them. They are expensive to start, but then you save over time because you aren't purchasing diapers. That is my suggestion, but I'm sure there will be many others!!!
Good luck!
Try Huggies overnights..
I also use the huggies overnight. But I suggest you go with size 3 even if you use size 2 diapers during the day. My daughter is 18 lbs and the size 3s are working for her. They have them on diapers.com.
Try using diaper doublers. I know Stop & Shop used to sell them and probably still do. They look almost like a maxi pad but you put them inside the diaper and it makes it more absorbent. Can't hurt. Good luck.
I highly recommend the Huggies overnight diapers. My 10 month old was constantly wetting through his regular diapers at night before we tried these. Now there is rarely an incident!
It looks like the smallest size the diapers come in is a 3, which should be fine for your daughter because the weight span on the diapers is 16-28 lbs.

Hope this helps and good luck!
I'm a big fan of Huggies Overnights. However, I've always found it very hard to find anything smaller than a size 5 in the pharmacy stores. I would try lookin in babies r us for the right size. I just tried a google search and the smallest I found was a size 3. However, I would just put it on as securely as possible. Good Luck.
Hi B.,
Congratulations on getting some sleep! My son had the same problem, and there is a solution. They're called Diaper Doublers. They look like a maxi pad (without the adhesive, so that when they're full, it flows through to the diaper), and you put them in the diaper. I would use a size 3 diaper (as long as it doesn't gap at her legs) and a diaper doubler and settle down for a nice long night! My son was always big for his age, drank a lot and peed a ton, and I tried everything: bigger diapers, overnight diapers (worthless, by the way), etc and these were the only things that worked. In a pinch an overnight maxi will work too--just make sure you cut off the wings--you don't want urine flowing out and around them.

Huggies Overnites did not work for my son, even a size bigger. I found Pampers Cruisers ULTRA-ABSORBENCY a size bigger to be better, but still not perfect. But they work most nights. They only sell them at BJs Warehouse and a few places on-line.
