Overactive Libido for This Nursing Mother.

Has anyone been a nursing mother for a year or so? my milk production has slowly went down, as my baby needed it and as she started eating more food.
I do not have my period back yet. She is 11 months now and nurses a lot less, and for the past couple weeks, I have had some feelings like my cycle may be starting to come back. Ya know , little lower back pain, aching feeling in the pelvis, and a little ups and downs with emotions.
Also, the last week I have had a seriously overactive libido!!! I feel like there is something wrong with me. But i kinda like it, and so does my husband. So could this be my body's reaction to my period coming soon? OR... I am 33, could the libido part be me reaching my sexual peak?

What can I do next?

Could be either of those. I really get in the mood when I ovulate and totally feel lovey-dovey towards my husband, needless to say he loves it!!

Your cycle could definitely be returning if you've cut way back on nursing. You could be ovulating and that's why your libido has been high so make sure you're using bc unless you want another baby right now!

I doubt it has anything to do with your sexual peak. That's supposed to be at around age 40. I'm almost 38 and I'm still waiting for signs....

I think you're WAY overthinking this. Yes, it's likely hormonally related. I doubt you're reaching your sexual peak. Enjoy the fact that you have a high libido, despite having a baby in the house!

It's probably your cycle returning, and the libido is likely related to ovulation. So be careful if you don't want to get pregnant again!

Ditto on the others, and remember that you ovulate approx. 2 weeks before your period, so make sure you're using some sort of birth control unless you want to end up with another baby in 9 months. :)

I agree with Christy Lee, don't over think it, just enjoy it while it lasts. For me pregnancy, new babies, nursing, and weaning gave lots of opportunity for feast or famine in the bedroom. Feast up baby.

I nursed both boys until they were 12 months, but I got my regular cycles back by the time they were 8 weeks, and yes, that included increased libido during ovulation.
