I have always wanted to find a legitimate work from home job. There are millions of scams out there, and I have found a real work from home job to be non-existant. Let me know if you discover anything! Michelle
I am considering leaving my job to stay at home with our son (he'll be 1 in 3 weeks!!). I am interested in looking into working from home, but I don't know where to start looking. I don't want to get into a scam, and I want a good, relaible company. Any moms out there who have any suggestions? How do you juggle doing the work and taking care of baby, household chores, and working at the same time? My husband & I both want me to be able to stay home with our kids, but we got pregnant sooner than we planned, and it just didn't work out that way. Fortunately, I work at a daycare, and he was able to be at the same place I work!!! However, I would still love to be a stay-at-home mom, but we need the 2nd paycheck. I would love any advice on where to look and your experiences working at home, and the companies that are good to work for (I would prefer a Christian-based company, but that isn't mandatory).

Hi B., I started my own business - Kid Express Child Shuttle - I don't know if you're in a position to do the same, but that might be an avenue to pursue. You can check out my website - www.kid-express.com - and let me know if you'd want to do the "entrepreneural thing".
On taking care of baby - you DEFINITELY need a babysitter/nanny type person - I started with someone part-time to play with my son and keep him occupied while I work. He still has access to me when he needs a mommy-break, but there is someone to entertain him. Otherwise, you'll NEVER get anything done! Housework - well, all I have to say is, you can't do EVERYTHING well - I chose to focus on the baby and the business, so the house suffers. The babysitter does do some "toy wrangling", which helps the overall chaos level stay down, but the house was in better shape when I wasn't doing my business things. Once you're making enough to do it, get a cleaning service. www.flylady.net is a help, but again, you can only do so much. Enlist your hubby as much as you can if he's willing.
Chose what's most important to you, and don't beat yourself up when things aren't going perfectly. Enjoy what you do! Enjoy your family! Things will work out. Good luck!
I was able to replace my full time, professional income within 6 weeks of starting my business, which allowed me to stay at home with my 3 children. I have been at home with them for 2 1/2 years now, and I LOVE IT! I am able to schedule work around their naps, etc, right out of my own home. I make an executive income that surpasses my husband's corporate job. The best part is, during this time of economical uncertainty, my company is in the stronest position that it has ever been financially, in its 45 years! If you are interested in more info, don't hesitate to contact me. I'd be glad to share more. Good luck!
I work at home. I was actually in a work-at-home job pre-baby, and I've just stuck with it. I love it, and would have a very hard time going back to full-time office work.
I second what Patricia said about child care. I have full-time child care, and would not be able to do my job without it. If you're able to do part-time work or have a flexible schedule, you might be able to make it work, but I don't know if that would bring in as much money as you need.

I LOVE working from home with my 2 and 4 year old children by my side. I left my teaching career almost 4 years ago and have been with Work at Home United since then.
It is flexible and rewarding. We are a group of primarily Christian moms who support one another building our business from home.
To request an overview call just visit www.WorkatHomeUnited.com/JOBS and I will call you to schedule a time. I enjoyed listening and getting all the details up front from real moms who were already successful working at home.
The income is such a blessing but being able to be at home for all my childrens aha moments is even better!
I would love to get you all the info so you can decide if this is a good fit for you and your family.

Unfortunately there are not really anythings out there that help. I've found that if I am working from home then the children are not getting the attention that was the point in the first place. It's STILL work. I remember a day several years ago when my oldest looked at me and asked for lunch. I looked up and it was almost 2 pm!!! Your only hope is do one of the pyramid programs (Mary Kay, Arbonne, Pampered Chef, Juice Plus, etc) when you can arrange a babysitter. Otherwise your children is better off being in daycare (with active interaction) than suffering with you at home because you are home, but not really actively there. So my suggestions is either keep working and keep him in daycare with you if you truly need the money (I did that for awhile, right after my lunch incident). OR look at your budget and see if you not working cuts out enough to make up for you working (for me it did, lower gas, decrease in clothing expenses, we out less, I clip coupons and plan my menus based on what's on sale, and remember, your husbands salary may go up when you go down to one income, no childcare expenses, etc) HTH
I work from home, if you would like details contact me anytime. I really like my business, my income potential is unlimited, unlike an hourly job making money for some one else. I only spend about 3-4 hours a day working, I am not required to carry inventory (it's online), I don't handle shipping or purchases. I sell things that all of us buy, like Dish Network (14million customers), Front Point Security, Organics, & more. You are welcome to check out my site
