Orgasms During Sleep

Okay so... what a problem to have, right? But, I get so many orgasms in my sleep that it disrupts my sleep! They are so intense sometimes that they are almost painful. Usually multiple times per night. This has been happening for as long as I can remember, since puberty.

Does anybody else have this problem? I've asked friends & family, and nobody else I know experiences this, or if they are, they aren't fessing up! Any ideas as to what could cause this?

I should mention that these do not always accompany sex dreams. Sometimes they do, but not always.

What can I do next?

There are a variety of sexual sleep disorders. You need to find a doctor that is knowledgeable in this area.

I watched a documentary on this once. The woman had a disorder that caused her to HAVE to have multiple orgasms, not only in sleep, but during the day as well. If she didn't masturbate, it would become very painful for her (and embarrassing if it happened while she was out). It actually ruled her life and she hated it! She could just be sitting in a chair and feel 'that feeling' building up and she would have to take care of it. It was NOT sexually related, either. It boiled down to almost a constant 'blue ball' (sorry, graphic!) sensation.

Get it checked out by your GYN.

I have about one a week. I think Jen C is right. It sounds like you may have a disorder. I don't think it is normal to have them nightly. I would ask your doctor.

yes!.....i have them too!.....not every night, but often. They have almost stopped since i have been breastfeeding at night. I guess my body feels it has other work to do.

You are not alone. Sometimes i wake up with the "contractions" and its usually annoying, rarely fun. very very intense, and not usually released because my husband works on oil rigs and is rarely home!

Mine have been happening since puberty too, its very ticklish when it is not asked for but rather suprised upon. I wish i knew how to control , when and where they happen, but i guess we should consider ourselves lucky, i hear some 35% of women never even have one for their entire lives.

i should also add that, i hold full conversations, and used to walk, in my sleep., it might all be intertwined.
