Hi i am 22 weeks along in my second pregnancy, and found out that i have complete placenta previa. Ive been doing weekly injections to prevent contractions, prior to finding out. I went into preterm labor with my first, but now am getting really worried that i may have to deliver super early via c-section! I have an appt, on friday to see my OB but i just cant wait until then! Anybody have this problem? and what was the outcome?
I started out w/ placenta previa but it corrected on its own and I had no complications. Be aware but try not to stress, if it doesn't correct itself your doctor will schedule a c-section.
I had placenta previa with my 2nd pregnancy at my 20-week ultrasound. It moved out of the way by the 30-week ultrasound check. The doctor said MANY cases of placenta previa at the 20-week ultrasound correct themselves well before delivery. Try not to worry too much and best of luck!
I did not have placenta previa, but I have had two c-sections. It may not be the ideal way to have a baby, but it's really not that bad. A few weeks before my first son was due, we knew it was a strong possibility. I read a great deal about c-sections, because I knew this would help be feel less nervous. It really helped. I read a lot about the procedure, and I really wasn't too concerned. I wish I had read more about recovery. It wasn't too bad, but the second one was much easier for me because I had a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Try to relax, listen to your doctor and ask lots of questions. Let your doctor and nature take it's course. And remember, a healthy baby and mom is what's most important.
I would request that my Dr allowed me to go the distance until really early signs of labor - mainly because due dates aren't an exact science and baby may not be ready. Cesarean babies are already predisposed to respiratory issues - so why possibly exacerbate that?
My baby was just born 8/8 and he had a bad case of cesarean respiratory issues... and he was 1 day 'overdue'. I labored 24 hours before needing a cesarean due to the baby's failure to descend into the birth canal... he'll be in NICU with a nasal cannula, IV and other trappings until at least the 14th.
