Same thing happened to me at Hardees. I was traveling and ordered a large sweet tea....when the tea was all gone...I took the lid off to eat the ice...and lo and behold....a bir drowned roach was at the bottom....nasty!!!!
So I bought my kids Burger king as an after school treat. My daughter is eating her whopper Jr ( she is only 6) and she throws something on the floor. I ask her what it was, and she picks it up and gives it to me.
It was a couple of hairs wadded up together!!! EEWWWWW. I could not stop throwing up. It wasnt ours due to the color of the hair. The hair was the type that is on the bottom of a broom when sweeping the floors and the hair gets tangled together.
The grossest thing I have ever came across and thought what the hell am i feeding my kids!!! This suppose to be a treat but a disease, illness, instread.
I called them and they told me next time I come in a free meal!!!! Do you thinkj I would ever go back there again!!! And feed my kids that unsanitary food.

I feel like you can't trust any of these fast food places. One time we ordered a meal at Hardee's and at the end of a drink a person with us found a roach. They offered a free drink but who wants a free anything from a place like this or the one you just experienced!!??? No excuse for this kind of thing.
While I totally agree that this is absolutely disgusting! I just want to say Wow! Judge much ladies? Yes this particular instance was completely gross and dirty and I second that you NEED to call the health department, I have to disagree with the thought that "All" fast food places are dirty and gross. There not. And the fact that your all lecturing her on how and what to feed her child is sorry IMO rude. If she had said "I bought my child BK as a treat after school like we do EVERYDAY " then I could understand telling her its not healthy but she didn't. What it sounds like is a rare food treat. Which I think is perfectly acceptable and I too do it myself and see nothing wrong with it.
Sorry you had a bad experience there. Call the health department immediately and let them be aware and also your the mom feed your kid what you want.
Best wishes!
You've discovered what you already knew. The food is garbage, and even if it's "clean" it's high sodium and high fat. These processed foods are not treats - they are giving our kids obesity and diabetes. Look, I took my kid there plenty of times -- but all of these places use mechanically separated meat (look that one up on the internet if you really want to be grossed out - "pink slime" and more) plus all the chemicals and fat. Frankly, the hair was the least of your problems - it's just the one that you could see.
We need to redefine what we mean when we say "treats" - treats need to be family game night or movie night or hikes or play dates or a trip to a nature area/museum, or make your own (healthy) pizza night, or whatever.
For all the junk toys given out at these restaurants, parents drop zillions of dollars for over marketed products too. There are alarming new reports on that, not to mention all the recalls for stuff made with harmful paints or plastics.
So use this as a lesson for your kids, that BK and McD and Wendy's are no longer treats - they are gross and you're not gonna help them get sick.
You've already gotten enough comments about the fast food aspect of this, so I won't go there.
But I want to say, you should definitely call the Health Department or Food Inspectors or whoever inspects restaurants of your city and report the incident. If you still can, take a picture, save your receipt, note the date and time that you went to the restaurant. I'm sure you could find the health department with a google search and call and ask them what to do. Your child's health may have been compromised.
sh*t happens now and then. it's not a perfect world.
isolated incidents shouldnt change your world, I'd definitely miss my whopper with cheese and extra mayo.....so I know I'd go back knowing full well that that was an isolated incident and not general practice.
They really need to make 'everyone' that works there wear a hair net. Not sure why it isn't mandatory anyway. Yuck. I would gross out too. Any restaurant, because of your issue above, should make all their employees where hair nets. I found a hair in my omelet that I got from IHop. ICK! I got a refund, and I haven't been back since. It only takes one time for me to gross out like that and they lose my business. ick. Go tell them you change your mind and you want your money back now. If they don't accommodate you right then, email the district manager and tell them you are going to report them to the Health Department because that wodded up hair had to have come off the floor! Then see how fast they move to make you happy. :-D
Ewe...if it's not hair, it's pink slime. Sigh.
That's why I wouldn't even consider eating at restaurant with less than an "A" rating.
When I eat at a BK or anything similar, I stand and watch my burger being made. It keeps them more honest (or at least I think so.)
Good luck to you and yours.
Bah! Absolutely disgusting! We stopped eating fast food after watching Food Inc. I agree w/ Diane, this food is not a treat, it's a bad joke. (Disclaimer: this is MY opinion! :)
Even if it had not contained hair, it is still diseased. Go to their website and look at the ingredients in the meals you purchased and see how much of it you can pronounce. Unless it is whole foods that you can grow in your garden or butcher, then it is NOT food.
You should watch Food Inc and read Fast Food Nation with your kids if this incident didn't prove to them that you shouldn't go back. The reason why chains can get away with things like this is because people don't stop eating there- so they can put whatever they want in the "food" and have any sanitary practices they want. It's a disgusting cycle that we as Americans just keep perpetuating.
Kudos for never going back.
Yes, I would definitely call the health department and be writing a letter to the editor of my local newspaper or news station! So gross! I never eat at BK, but my husband does. So nasty!
Stop "treating" you kids with unhealthy, chemical laden, fatty, cheap and in this case dirty food. There are so many ways to show your kids you're proud of them or let them have a little fun with food, fast food does not ever have to be one of them.
Just because the kid's meals at these place have become our society's idea of a treat doesn't mean you have to buy into it.
Burger King is garbage! Not food! Now you know....
Ha! GROSS! That happened to me at Burger King too! I was pregnant and craving the chicken parm sandwich and I find a long blackish gray hair! GROSS! I have never gone back! In all honesty, I prefer to eat only at home rather than get any take out...
I worked at BK in high school and my hubby worked at McDs, so let's just say we rarely if ever eat at those places:)
I won't bore you with the details, but I'm not too surprised.
I would've asked for a refund if it were me...I went to a different fast food place & there was a hair in my drink! I went bk to the counter & told the clerk & got a different cup & drink. That's just totally gross, you'd think people would be more diligent. Sorry you had a bad experience.
Ugh I almost threw up reading this, so sorry this happened to you :oS
