Ok, Tell the Truth, I Can Handle It.......

I crave flowers. Call me a people pleaser.
When reading other peoples questions, I send a flower to everybody that I don't flat out disagree with.
If I ask a question I send a flower to everyone that took the time to answer - even if I do flat out disagree with them!

I like having the flowers, but it takes a ton of time to open all of them to see what response it was for... that's the annoying part about them. It would be nice if at least the topic name was next to the flower so you didnt have to open it. That would be my wish :)

Not at all. It takes way more than that to annoy me. I love them!

I especially love the flowers from women who have written an answer to the same question they have "flowered" me on, but theirs is different or has a twist. Even though they may not completely agree with me, I helped in some way.

And I thought we discussed this already, Theresa. You are only to flower me. That's flower, not deflower. =)

No way! I send a lot of flowers too, as a sign that I agree, was mentally exercised, or was tickled by an answer :) Heck, if ya can't get them from hubby, why not from the lovely ladies of mamapedia??

There are times I want to send you a dozen flowers for saying something!! Just let's you know your voice was heard - that's how i look at it and that someone agreed or liked what you said!!

Wow, no, not at all. I like acknowledging when others are wise, supportive or encouraging. Consider the life of a mother: we do a lot for our families and children (and even communities) and are often under-recognized; our gender and life with children is often maligned and demeaned in so many other areas of our worlds, a flower or two isn't a bad thing at all.

I don't do a lot of flowers, actually last week was the first one I sent. Now if we could send flowers and thorns, oh I would be right with ya! :p

I kinda like them so I know not everyone thinks I am nuts when I post. :)

I love all the flowers you have given me:) It makes me feel like I have contributed to the greater good, and lets me know that I was helpful in some small way. Keep them coming my way!

No. Flowers are nice. There are not very many things that I do in my day-to-day life where I receive positive feedback and so quickly too! Makes me think that I should make more of an effort saying complimentary things to my friends and family so that they feel appreciated also.

I love the flowers, but I HATE mamapedia's flower system. I hate that I have to click on each one to clear it, but that I can't delete the read ones.

I always try to give anyone that answers my questions a flower. It's a little thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

If I see an answer I really agree with, I give a flower as well.

I would only be "annoyed" if you were doing it just to do it and not really because you agree or like what was posted. And I do have to agree that it's time consuming sometimes to "clear" all your flowers out of your inbox. When we went from mamasource to mamapedia I had HUNDREDS and it took me doing a bunch every day for a couple weeks to clear them all out. And now that I'm caught up I try to stay on top of it. I give flowers to people who have replied to my post if I agree with them or not. I appreciate that they took the time to read and reply. :o)

Good heavens no!!I Love it when others think enough of what I had to say that they send a flower to me!! What I wish is that Mamapedia would make it so that you could click on one flower...and it would automatically "mark" all of the rest of the flowers that you received for the same response...so that you could clear out your unchecked flowers that much more quickly!!!

I don't pay much attention to who anyone is so don't track anyone's flower sending, how often they ask questions, or what replies they make. Who does?. Once in a blue moon I look at who sent me a flower and for what. But mostly, i only like to see how many flowers per answer and don't investigate further. I do like getting flowers though.

I like the idea of giving flowers, and enjoy receiving and giving them.

I like them. But at someone else said, the way MP deals with them is annoying. It would be nice if they were more like the "like" button on FB.

Nope...I love them. It is a way to let the other moms know that your thoughts are good.

I wish it was easier to just chit chat sometimes with people. I think they try and keep the site to driven for question and answers, and advertising. Sometimes I wish it were set up a bit more like facebook...but then thats why we have FB I guess. I think we should be able to scream through our key boards without making it into the form of a question!! I have found my home on this site...When we didnt have the internet I missed it soo much. It made the change while i was unlinked...so coming back on with a bigger forum was great.

I love the flowers...I still have about 200 plus i have not opened from when it was mamasource..I keep saying one day when I realllllly am looking for something to do I will go back and open them...one day.

Updated: I find it funny... I was just reading the newer posts...I realized as I was scrolling down...The responses I thought were cute, I just did the flower without thinking...I am so used to reading the responses and IF i like something or something in the responses really catches me I naturally click it. Those that I was only partial to I would just cruise by......i am so used to the scroll, stop, read, if i like it click..then over again:)

No way! :) I always give flowers when I read an answer I like, but I admit I usually don't have the time to read answers. I appreciate the flowers I receive though!

The only thing I find annoying is that Mamapedia doesn't tell us how many we have and Mamasource used to do that. I lost track at well over 1200.

The only thing that annoys me is that I have to click on the flower and see what it was for... That takes a little too much time for my liking (Especially when you log in and have like 20 of them waiting for you). I'd rather be looking at new posts, not going back and looking at my flowers.

i don't mind it.. however, Mamapedia should have private messages stored in a different file than flowers. I have like 800 unchecked flowers and I am not searching through a thousand pages for private personal messages. annoying as all get out.

No, but it drives me crazy that I still say I have 600 unread flowers beacuse of the switch over from mamasource.
But if that is the biggest thing I complain about on here.. Doing pretty good.

Yes, because then I have to go through and click on each flower so it wont show up anymore on messages alert. I get like 20 everyother day. But, it's also nice to know when people agree with me, so I would still like to recieve them, even if they are annoying.

I never go to my account due to hate mail...lol. I just ignore that part of mamapedia and it doesn't bother me. When I do go back and re-read the comments on some questions I am always nicely surprised when my answer gets some flowers though.

I love to get them because it means my post was helpful or whatever, and I try to give good, thoughtful responses.

Aren't "the flowers" the equivalent to "like" on Facebook?

The weirest thing is some will show up in seconds and some 12-18 hours later.

I just wish that we could delete them I hate having to weed thru all of the flowers to get to the messages that I have or that I have saved over time for whatever reason ... I like the flowers. I like the sense of "you are not alone" or "you go girl" or "I hear ya sista" or "agreed" or whatever you take from the flower(s) it brings a sense of not being alone with your point of view.

Im not annoyed by it, but do wish it was easier to read thru them, and wish we had other options like "I agree" "I love it" "ooh that sucks" "you must be kidding".. I usually send a flower if they answered a way I would, or if it was interesting and gave me some advice or info I hadnt thought myself. Sometimes I read an answer and see theyve recieved flowers, and I wonder,, what for? lol If you make me laugh I will send you a personal note thanking you. I also wish we could comment more than once, and not have to edit the first comment. I dont go back and re-read them so I guess I miss comments after the first time.

Sometimes I wish I could give the writer a flower for asking a good question that I don't have an answer for, but would like to let them know that I was thinking of them or that I I liked the question.

I love the flowers, too. Maybe it's weird but I definitely take some time to go see what the Mama's who 'liked' my post had to say themselves. I send flowers too, but not to everyone, only when I definitely agree or really giggle out loud with something that was said.

I am a secret flower addict for sure. And very disappointed when I respond to a post and even the poster doesn't flower me. Like...just today after responding the poster sent me a PM for additional info, which I obliged and still no flower....come on..it's just one click....makes it all worth the effort sometimes.

I would however like to have a bomb option. That was my son's idea one night when we asked if there was Papapedia....

I do agree with the other post about needing other options. I would also like to have an option so that I can mark them as 'read' or unchecked something along those lines.

I think the flowers are a great way to say you agree with what someone has said or to just thank them for taking their time and responding.

I'm new to this site so I'm not sick of the flowers but I do think it would be a good idea to show how many people read each post and also something that lets you give an answer even if you're the one who wrote the question...or maybe there is something like that. Like I said, I'm still new...
