A.S.
My husband's eyes . . . I just LOVE his eyes.
No matter how old we get, his eyes never change. <3
He took my car to work this week. He travels for a living, and late Sunday noticed his car is leaking something. Too late to bring it in, rather than risk it, took my car. I'm just going to the grocery store and back, after all.
It's been parked in the hot sun in the driveway all day, with the windows down. I just went out to get the mail, and the breeze was just so as I walked past the open car window, that The Man Smell wafted out. Just the SMELL of him from inside his car made me feel like a lovesick teenager. Honestly, I was brought to tears. Had to linger for a few seconds remembering the early days (LONG time ago, 28 years).
He is gonna get it when he gets home!
Anyway, to make it into a question, what sense associations with your SO reminds you why you're together in the first place? A smell? A song? A place?
Have a great night Chicas!

Whenever I smell wild flowers I think about him. We were driving past a field one day, and I said that I LOVED that smell. He pulled over and picked me some flowers. :)
Thats cute Theresa! Hope he comes home soon!
every time i catch him looking at me, and he smiles really slowly and says, "i love you so much, you're so beautiful" even if i feel like an ogre that day. makes me melt. or i watch him weedeating the yard. my stomach just flutters, and i sigh :)
Probably at those times when we are laughing hysterically.
I know this is weird. The sound of his dogtags. Please don't think I or my husband mean any disrespect for the military, but ... they are actual dog tags. They clink together when he takes them off and comes to bed.
We quite recently had to put down our beloved gentle giant Russell, a Lab/Newfie mix. My husband wears Russell's dog tags. (Obviously cleaned) Hearing the clink of them reminds me of why I fell in love with this man. He's sweet and sentimental and has a heart as big the ocean.
He's working out of town Mondays through Fridays. I sure do miss him tonight.
wow, this just gave me tears...I just love when he gives me that stare...and then a special special smile
I had a moment like that at our son's last track meet. My husband and I were just sitting together on the hill above the high school track, up above the bleachers. It was a beautiful day, we weren't really talking, just taking in the scene, and cheering on our son with pride when he ran. I sat there looking around and I noticed so many single, tired, lonely looking parents, staring into space, or playing on their cell phones. I felt so blessed and lucky at that moment, it was overwhelming!
So yes, I guess it's a "place" and that place is by his side, when I care to notice and acknowledge that it is still the best place to be :)
(I'm going to use this line on his anniversary card!)
Without a doubt, when he wears a bandana. It reminds of the first time I saw him & (as cheesy as it sounds) I knew we would be together. 11 years later I still love the look of that blue bandana! :)
A silly response to an ordinary question. He always makes me laugh, and we have a long history (23 years married) and he can weave a lot of silly history in a response to an innocuous question. That and his smile.
When he plays with our daughters and they are laughing hysterically rolling around roughhousing with him and squealing "Daddy!!" while he tickles them. *sigh* LOVE.
Utterly bizarre, but the smell of gasoline! LOL! DH brings gas cans with him when he fills up and then fills my car from them! Twice the effort just to help me avoid going to a gas station. He doesn't like me dealing with it with the kids in the car... The kids say we have a magic garage! I pull in and when I pull out the gas tank is full!
I say I have a magic husband! When I smell the gas from him filling it it reminds me of how much he cares for us and what good care he takes of us even when he isn't around....
Love it theresa! I love my husband too. We've known each other 13 yrs and he treats me like im th best thing on earth. Im nothing like when I met him. Im fat, tired and just so different but I love the way he smells, looks, everything. He has long eyelashes, dark olive skin and my fav, freckles (our daughter calls them sprinkles). Can't wait for him to get here! He works two jobs so I can stay home. Thank you! Reminded me how sweet he is!
For me it is the first kiss. I swore I would never forget it and so far have not. I can be dog tired, no energy, he kisses me that way, I am awake!
I wonder if it will change and evolve over the years.
nothing reminds me of me. that is what the problem is :( i miss him every second he is at work. i just want him home. when he is home on weekends, those weekends fly by so fast i hate sunday evening. nothing that reminds me of him is enough for me.
aaaaaaaawwww Theresa!!! how sweet!!!!
When I hear Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healy band - I lose it...
There are times - even right now when it's a tad stressful...(doh!) that I look at him and I KNOW it will all be okay....
Hope you make some sweet music tonight Chica!!!
Burger King.... haha
This is where we met at 17! Every time I pass one I think of him (as most of you know my hubby travels out of town as well during the weekday).
Theresa ~Everyone should be as lucky as you :-) That sounds 'dreamy'!
He opened the car door for me on the first date and then for maybe the first year, now when he does it on occasion, I get that butterfly in the tummy feeling and flash him a sexy smile !!! LOVE IT
awwwe! So cute!!
I can't say any of those things I associate with my husband... maybe we haven't been together long enough?
Last night I was having a pity party and I didn't invite my husband. However, I was taking it out on him. Our 25th Wedding Anniversary is August 23rd. I was feeling sorry for myself for several reasons and I told him that this wasn't important to him. Well, apparently it is! I went to bed and was watching tv. He went to the store, bought me a princess anniversary card and inside was a piece of paper where he had booked a suite in at the San Antonio Hyatt Spa and Resort!
He tells me all the time how beautiful, sexy and wonderful I am, which of course is true!! But to me he is hot, hot, hot. I love him more today than the the day we married and that is saying alot! He is my best friend, lover and keeper of my secrets. He is the best daddy in the world and I'm a very blessed lady. Doesn't hurt that he looks like Tom Selik either!!!
Mostly songs for me.... there's the song that was playing in the car the morning after we spent our first night together, the songs that were played at our wedding, the ones we like to dance to together...
But most of all, my husband sings a romantic song to me every night as we're snuggling to sleep.... there are a bunch of songs now that don't sound right unless he's singing them lol.... but anyway, any time I hear one of the songs he sings to me, I think of him and how much I love him.
