Odd Question for Breastfeeding Moms...

This is a super weird question. Here it goes. when I wear black / dark colors, I feel like my breasts are more sensitive. I guess it feels like my let-down reflex is more pronounced. Thats the only way I can describe the feeling. Anyone else experience this / am I crazy. My thought is that the dark color absorbs more heat, causing my body to think there is a baby lying there. I know this is really weird but I've been dying to ask some experienced ladies.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Just to add... I normally don't have a problem w/ let-down when I shouldn't. Sometimes a baby crying will do it but only if my breasts are full & close to feeding time. The most I've ever experienced it, is w/ the dark shirt color.

hmmm... I've breastfed four and I've had let down reflex when I'm relaxed, its time to feed, I hear any baby cry, when I'm in the shower, when I'm "with" my husband (LOL), etc... But I don't remember ever having the type of clothing or fabric or color I wear make a difference. This sounds very interesting, though!

I never found materials or colors to make a difference but you are in Arizona and I am in the northeast. So maybe you are right about your black shirt!

Hrmmm......... I breast fed my daughter for over four years and I can't recall ever having had that experience. Different types of fabric, sure, but not the color. Then again, I live in a much different climate than you do and I didn't wear a lot of dark clothing, at least not in the summer when it may have made a difference. This is an interesting question; very thought provoking.

Hmmm, I am in AZ too and never noticed it with the color of the fabric. I did notice a difference in the material.....

You could be right though that the color is "warmer" and thus causing let down. Or maybe it is a sensitivity to the dye?

I have noticed it stuff like that with different materials (rayon vs cotton) but never dark vs light. Perhaps you are sensitive to different dyes and don't know it?
