I nurse my 15 month old son and just in the past month one breast is much larger than the other. I am still producing milk but am wondering why now I have this problem. I nursed my daughter til she was 11 months and she did want one breast over the other. He does not! So needless to say i was using way more than one breast pad in one side of my bra. I am currently trying to wean my son not that i want that but i can't walk around like this in a bathing suit. So if anyone has any advice PLEASE help....

What can I do next?

haha that happened to me too but earlier than at 15m. Now my son is 18m and still nursing and I make so little milk that it doesn't show much if it's uneven.

#1 I'd say is call la leche league because they're just awesome. But from my own person unqualified view here's my advice: ;)

The LLL people told me when I tried to wean my son that sometimes when you try to wean before the baby decides to wean, it becomes worse because the baby senses that it's being taken away so he wants it more. So I decided to stop trying and it's worked. He nurses much less now. I think it'll come out naturally.

I think that if you take it easy, he'll just nurse leeeess and then if ther eis a difference in your breast size it won't be so obvious because there isn't much milk in there anyway. Plus you'll both be happier because it sounds like you don't really wanna wean anyway, you're just doing it to solve this problem.

Another idea is you can always do pectoral exercises and lift weights and stuff to pump up the muscles behind your breasts. Then the muscles will (which are even) be more noticable than the breast tissue (which is uneven).

Lastly, if you have any discomfort the size difference could be a result of a breast infection or clogging. Check to make sure it's not hot to the touch or sensitive or clogged. You didn't mention that so it's probably not the case but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I nursed all four of my children and my breasts got all goofy too. They always cleared up on their own when I weaned them. Good luck to you and congratulations!

You could try pumping the other side or buy some sort of insert for your bathing suit to even you out.

If you don't want to wean, just don't - at least not because you think your breasts look lopsided... chances are even though your think everyone must spot it right away, probably noone but you and your hubby can tell.
There are also bathing suits with formed cups, which may help you camouflage pretty well...
Good luck!

My sisters right produces more then her left. a lactation consultant told her to always start on the lesser side then switch in the middle and then go back to that less side to finish. It worked well for her. If you don't want to be done nursing, I would nurse on the smaller side more often then the other and always start on that side too.
Good luck
