I would get him in sometime this week with his pediatrician. Every half hour does imply that something is going on.
My 3 1/2 year old was mostly potty trained before school and daycare began. We've experienced some regression, which was to be expected. My concern is that he seems to pee every half hour or so, and it's a very small amount. A little over two years ago he had corrective surgery for some urological issues (hypospadias and chordee). He's due to see a new pediatric urologist in November (ours moved away over the summer), and I'm wondering if we don't want to get an appointment sooner. Or maybe this is normal and I'm just being paranoid!
Does this sound like normal potty traiing and regresssion?
He's been sitting on the potty and going. The 15-20 minutes later he has an accident. We have an appointment to see his pediatrician this week, and we'll go from there.
Thank you for the responses. It could be nothing, but I think it's something. I really will feel better just having the doctor check him out.

this is a normal thing boys tend to do. Tell him that after he thinks he is done he is to count to ten as he tries to push out all the rest of the pee, trying to squirt (or shoot is another good word for this) with each number. He just isn't emptying his bladder. Trust me I have potty trained over 40 kids, this happens all the time.
Concern get him to dr for sure.
When he pees every half an hour is this in the potty? My 21 month old pees way more often when using her potty then her diaper. I actually took her to the Dr tonight bc she went so often today and then came down w a fever. I was thinking UTI. She doesn't seem to have one so I am not sure whether she just really enjoys going to the bathroom and getting that praise and she also drinks a ton.
Ok, that being said, is there pain when your son pees? Seeing as though he had a procedure last year, I would get it checked sooner than Nov. Start with the pediatrician. They may very well be able to make a call and get you in much sooner...like this week. You can also always take a trip to ER at a large center where you can see a urologist and hopefully get some fast answers...not saying it's an emergency, just offering a way to get access and answers in you can't any other way.
Even if it is perfectly normal and turns out to be nothing, it never hurts to call the doctor and make sure, especially since he already has a history of urological issues.
