We are having family over tomorrow for steaks. This week is very busy for me so it will be a simple meal. I have lots of groceries but ran out of potatoes. What do you like to eat with steak?

A cool summer salad - corn, grilled veggies, romaines, throw in some color, some olive oil, and a lemony dressing!
Pasta salad and grilled veggies - grilled zucchini and squash are my favorites this time of year.
A green salad of some kind!
Or CousCous?
It's the perfect time of year for sweet corn. Shuck it, pop it in boiling water for a few minutes and you're done. Couldn't be easier. Serve a platter of ripe, freshly sliced tomatoes (gussy them up with a little fresh basil and balsamic if you feel like being fancy). Add crusty bread, and you're done!
I'd just do steak and two veggies. We'll often do corn on the cob and a salad with steak.
brown rice or a wild rice with fresh peas mixed together!!
Some kind of pasta, or rice is good, and a fresh green salad, and bread.
roasted veggies: zucchini, eggplant, squash, peppers, tomatoes
usually we just do veggies and steak fries.. but if youre looking for something simple is day buy a few bags of rice.. we always eat the uncle bens rice pilof in the microwave bag.. 90 seconds and its done- it cant get much easier then that and its really good i could eat a whole bag by myself
broc and rice together
Couscous is really easy and tasty.
Any kind of cool green, fruit or pasta salad, especially in this heat!
Some kind of pasta dish, either hot or pasta salad, and either a green salad or fruit salad. With something cold for dessert - maybe sherbert?
A cold pasta salad would be great.
We are a low carb household, so we tend to do lots of roasted or grilled veggies for our sides. When we do have a starch, it is brown rice, bulgur or quinoa. They can all be dressed up or down to go with steaks. There are some great recipes on Pinterest.
Think of a steakhouse menu:
side salad (garden) with a choice of potato, rice pilaf or a steamed/grilled vegetable.
Since the potatoes are out, go with either rice pilaf or a veggie side, along with a fresh garden salad. (greens, red onion, tomato, cucumber, shredded cheese).
baked beans, corn-on-the-cob, fruit salad, macaroni salad, tossed salad,
Asparagus, salad, rice, the possibilites are endless!
