Have you tried Acupuncture? It works very well for getting pregnant and regulating your cycle. Ann M. Yager in Loveland is wonderful!! Hope this helps.
I hae not had my period in about 4 months. I was on birth control for about 3 years and then stopped in May. I went on normally for about 5 months then I missed. I took a pregnancy test which was negative. For every month after I will wait for something to happen, but I am soon disappointed. I would usually start my cycle around the 5th of each month. So around the 7th I will take another at home pregnancy test. I have gone to the doctor twice and they always tell me the same thing. The last doctor I saw told me to come back if I still don't get my period in 6 months and not to be too worried because I have had a child before. Is this too long to wait? Has anyone had this problem before? It is geting very nerve wracking and expensive buying the pregnancy tests.

Hi Felicia,
A great book is Hormone Balance, Your Life & Health by Kristine Klitzke or go to the website www.johnleemd.com. There is some amazing/disturbing information out there that we don't hear from our doctors. I was having trouble conceiving and carrying full term. I began using a natural, bioidentical, transdermal progesterone cream and not only was I able to conceive & carry full term but have realized so many additional health benefits as well.

Have they done blood tests? I think it is absolutely too long to wait. You have to get another opinion....not to scare you, but there could be something wrong, or your body could just need a kick start after being on birth control.
Let us know what happens! Good luck!
if you have gotten checked out and have had bloodwork to confirm you're not pregnant i would chalk it up to side effect of the birth control. it is staggering the damage/uproar it can cause to our system. this is not abnormal for having used it for years. just wait it out, because the stress it's causing you is also affecting your hormones, so it's a tricky cycle. (no pun intended! ;)) the more you worry, the more stress hormones are released into your system.
Many women go months without a period especially after childbirth and taking the pill. Your body was having false periods while on the pill and now that you took that regular dose of fake hormone away it is having to restart its own cycle. If you are worried about getting pregnant use other precautions. If you want to get pregnant then try an at home ovulation kit to see if you are even ovulating regularly yet -probably not. It can be frustrating, but not stressing is very important because the body releases hormones to stop periods under great stress which would be counterproductive. There are some great essential oils that can help this process get started if you would like some information I can help you with that too.
I would go see a fertility specialist, or an ob/gyn at the very least. There are medications that can cause you to have a period.
