No Period for 2 Months

Hi everyone! I am 32 yo and in the last 2 months I didn't have any period. I am a little concerned because last year I had to have one ovary removed due to a cyst. It was ok until 2 months ago. I was very sick during these 2 months, I had flue, than urinary infection and I was on antibiotics. Maybe that's the reason why my period is so late? I did a pregnancy test and it was negative as I expected (we used protection). So...what can it be? I am afraid of menopause, I hope it won't come so soon. Has this happened to you? Thank you very much!

What can I do next?

You need to ask your Dr. what is going on. We can't diagnose here.

Best wishes to you.

Two things I can think of - antibiotics can delay periods, and antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. You say you've tested negative, but if it doesn't come again in a while, I'd probably test again. Or better yet, go in and see your doctor to be sure. Especially where you've had an ovary removed. Not sure how that would affect things, but better to get a real answer :)

You need to call and make an appointment with your OB today. Especially with the removal of an ovary due to a cyst.

See your doctor. Although you are relatively young, 35+ is considered "advanced material age" during pregnancy. If you want a baby, I would try sooner rather than later especially since you only have one ovary.
Best of luck!

Early 30's is not too soon for peri menopause to start up.
For me it was a VERY long process (like 15 years) of slowly becoming less predictable.
Because you've had other issues (the cyst) and being sick, it might be worth it for your doctor to check you out.

Personally - I love Love LOVE menopause!
Towards the end I went 9 months without a period and was happily counting down to my menopause party - when I had a period! - and had to start my count down all over again.
It's all in how you look at it.
You're free from monthly bloody messes, PMS, moodiness, and water weight gain (I use to go up and down 5 lbs every month no matter what I did due to bloating and holding water).
If you have fibroid s - they tend to shrink after menopause.
Some women are cramp free for the first time since their periods started.
If you live to 100 and achieve menopause in your 50's - then you have a long time to enjoy not having to deal with it!

since you have been sick and on antibiotics and an ovary removed due to cyst i think you should call the dr and see if they want to see you ir if they want to wait a month or two to see if things settle after all the illnesses. i know my gyn would tell me to call her in a month if i don't get a period by then. but your dr may see things differently based on your history. so call the dr and see what to do.
