WTH?? That's like ASKING to be fired!! Think she's going to use you as a reference? <insert laugh>
So my sister came over with the two boys she nanny's for and her 2 year old today and my nanny just wouldn't shut the heck up. She talked about how miserable her life is, how nuts my kids make her, and how awful it is to have to work at all. I mean why can't the kids leave her alone to watch news for 3 hours every morning? She even talked long enough to tell my sister she pushed my 4 year old. Yes, I said PUSHED! I came home at lunch and told her to take the rest of the day off and we'd see her Monday. But once I heard this I asked her to come back so we could talk and she had a million reasons why she couldn't. I fired her on the phone. She is DONE. The old babysitter will take my 4 year old back on Monday and my sister is going to help me with before care until we find someone who can do that. I regret not firing her when my gut first told me too. Since there has to be a question, what is your worst nanny experience and how did you handle it? (My husband jokingly called me the executioner for firing her without have a face-to-face conversation, but she made that impossible, so I don't care.)
The funny thing is when she told me she pushed him, she said it was because he was pitching a fit and hitting and kicking his arms and legs so he hit her. I told her the adult thing to do when he is in the middle of a tantrum like that is to turn around and walk away. She got in the middle and she's lucky he didn't really hit her for pushing him. I'm shocked he didn't and wish he had!

Good for you.
I haven't had a bad experience really. It's either been family or the one person that was NOT a licensed daycare center, a friend of a friend... was super awesome.
Go Mama!!!
My mom was my 'nanny' for 4 yrs. Worst thing she did was feed my DD cookies and ice cream and coffee. (She watched her from 8am-noon.)
That was all my kid wanted to eat. All the time. She was a toddler at the time.

You rock...sounds like she was from hell...! Yikes...Glad you made the right decision. Have a good weekend.
I'm a provider and my kids very visibly love me! They hug on me, climb on me, lay with me, tell me they love me, etc. Until you find someone like that, keep looking! The parents that I work for see this every day and keep me for years because of it. Am I perfect? No, or course not. BUT, no one can deny my love for my job or the precious ones that I keep. :) Best of luck to you in finding the perfect little lady to care for your kiddos!
I'm glad you got rid of her.
I knew it!! I could tell from you previous post that she had to go. So sorry your kids had to deal with her for so long! Always go with your gut mama! Good job for firing her sorry a**!
So sorry you had this horrible experience with her! I am so glad that you fired her!!! Good luck with finding a really nice nanny. I am saying a special prayer for you tonight for you to find the right nanny and someone your child will love F.. GL
