I have no idea why I don't have a birth certificate, all my brothers and sister have one. ISocial services, utah records can't find one either. My mom didn't tell me the truth about when, where, my real name date of birth. I've tried everything. All of my siblings were born in Contra Costa County CA, I have no clue, I got vaccinated HEP B on 4/2/58, it states on my immunization record, but don't know if its in California

What can I do next?

The HepB vaccine was not invented in 1958. So, I wonder what you did get. Most children were not vaccinated with much other than small pox and polio and tetnus.

Did you check with the state of CA department of vital statistics in Sacramento? Do you think you were adopted? My husband was adopted, but he has a birth certificate in his given name with his adopted parents as his birth parents.

I think that there is a way to get a birth certificate. It's very unusual for someone born in the fifties to not have one. My mother who was born in 1915 didn't have one and that was common back then. I think she had to produce a couple of documents that showed she was born. I remember that school records and baptismal certificates were permitted.

Do you think that you were born to someone else who gave you to your mother without doing a legal adoption thru the courts? Unless you know someone who knew your mother at the time, I don't know of any way that you can get more information. I'd just asked the State Department of Vital Statistics how to get a birth certificate in this sort of situation.

Do you have any relatives willing to speak with you about your mothers history? Does your mom have old high school friends you could speak with?

Were you the first born? How old was your mother when you were born?.. That is the time to concentrate on.. What was she doing, where did she live? Who were her friends? Who are your godparents? Who were her neighbors?

Do you have a social security card? How did you get that without a birth certificate?
