Normal, and happened with one of my daughters. They have fluctuating hormone levels- sometimes they will even get swollen "breasts" or a tiny amount of benign discharge. Don't worry! :-)

It's totally normal! Her hormones are still surging from childbirth just like yours are. As women, our breasts (or lack thereof ;)) are made to lactate, the extra hormones after birth sometimes prematurely kickstart lacation but it will stop. Once her hormones settle down, so will the discharge. If it seems painful to her at all, I'd return to the pediatrician.
I've heard of this and what it is is blood. DO NOT FREAK OUT! It IS normal and good news is the blood has already oxidized so she's not bleeding. It is from your hormones leveling out and what happen was the doctor "milked" the baby's breast until there was no more and then the problem was fixed. If the problem persists then contact your doctor and bring up "milking" her breast.
Best of Luck to you and your little one... hope this helped you feel at ease some!
You know all those hormones that were raging around in your body were raging around in your daughter's while inside you. Do a google search about this but as the doctor said it should clear up in the next month or so. All will fine. The other S.
You are speaking about your child I take it from your post. If it is your child and the physician has said it is normal I would really get a second opinion from a pediatrician. This is something I have never heard of. Now if it is yourself yes I can see it as being normal had you breast fed. It should go away in no time soon.
Take care, and good luck!!
Hi,
are you currently breastfeeding? When i stopped breastfeeding for the next few months I had some discharge, it was yellowish. I think you could have some discharge even if you never breastfed. your body might just be getting rid of colostrum. If you Dr. says it's normal i wouldn't worry.
Yeah I t is absolutely normal so please don't worry. While giving her bath you could press the nipple and get rid of the discharge. And after a couple of days you will see that its gone.

My son lactated for a few weeks from one nipple for a few weeks after he was born, and I've heard that is pretty common because of all the estrogen they are exposed to in the womb. I've never heard of brown discharge, though. I wouldn't be concerned if it doesn't go on for too long and your doctor is comfortable with it.
