Nightsweats

My daughter is now 4 months old and throughout my pregnancy I experienced nightsweats which I put off as part of my hormones shifting from the pregnancy. However I am STILL sweating at night. It is so bad I have to change clothes in the middle of the night. I am taking Lexapro and birth control which may contribute to my nightly soakings but I am wondering if he could be something else. Has anyone else shared this same experience?

What can I do next?

I too had nightsweats when pregnant and I still sweat pretty bad at night. My daughter is now 4 1/2 so I can't blame it on that. I too take Lexapro and really think that has to be the problem. I don't know a solution other than to sleep in cool pj's and have a fan on. ;-) Good luck.

I had the same problem and the same RX's in my last pregnancy and post partum. They did figure out what it was. You might want to have your Iron checked. Are you experiencing any other strange occurances...eating ice or abnormal cravings? Any problems during the pregancy? After 3 kids or more your body wears down quite a bit, seems to take longer to recover each time! At your next check up have them check your iron levels, mine were 1/2 of what they should have been. Once it was restored the night sweats stopped.

as your body tries to regulate your hormones you're going to experience these night sweats. I would check with your doctor to see if there's another imbalance happening.

Lexapro gave me a horrible thirst at night maybe you can try something else.

I would have terrible night sweats after my 1st child was born. It stopped within a few months...can't quite remember when because it was 5 yrs ago. You may want to ask you dr to be safe. Good luck!

L.,

Sad to say but your hormones won't be back to normal for a long time. I sweat like that as well! It is you hormones. I got back on the pill and it helped a little. I am just now feeling like I am back to normal and my son is 19 months old. Some women get back quicker then others. I slept with a fan on me to help!

Good Luck sweetie!

It's completely normal and is a result of the flux of hormones that you are having postpartum - especially if you are breastfeeding!
no worries

It happens all the time

I don't want to scare you but it is a symptom of tuberculosis, but I wouldn't be too concerned unless you have some other sysmptoms of tuberculosis..because it is most likely just the norm as most people here have said....I remember being uncomfortable and having nightsweats alot as well.

depending on your age, it sounds like you need hormone treatment. I'm no doctor, but I am going through menopause and that's a symptom. Talk with your OBGYN

OMG yes I go thru the nightsweats and the daysweats, I'm hot all the time. MIne I chalk up to hormones and my hypothyroidism. My baby will be 10months old on the 27th of this month.

It is probably the Lexapro. It did it to me too. Call your Dr. and see if you can take a lower dosage. That's what I did and it worked.

Talk to your doctor about them and see what he or she says.
