My son hated the car, too, but he finally outgrew it! In the mean time, it helped have a favorite toy, especially one that lit up or played music. We found a musical mirror toy to hang on the headrest so he could see it, and it seemed to pacify him sometimes. We also gave him a tiny soft blanket or burp cloth to hold onto. Maybe your son can try his hand at entertaining her, as well! Good luck!

It can be hard traveling with newborn babies. I know, I've gone through it 4 times so I definitely sympathize with you. It's still very early to tell what the possibilites may be. I know I had a child who was very colicky. It may very well be that. After being exposed to the air and getting into the car or riding with the windows down and exposing to a lot of air that may be causing the problem. I guess the question to ask yourself is "Is she fussy most of the time" or just when you get in the car. I'm no doctor, but I have quite a bit of experience. You still want to follow up with the pediatrician to be on the safe side and it could just be a matter of changing formula. If you are breastfeeding (which I've done both) the baby can still get colic. It's just painful gas on the baby's stomach. I hope this helps you a little bit. Good luck to you.

My daughter was the same way. What we did was get really excited when strapping her in. Just praising her and smiling and laughing. Eventually she got used to it and now doesn't seem to mind as much. She does cry a bit before she goes to sleep if we are on a longer trip, but for the most part is fine when the car starts up. Hope this helps.

My daughter was the same way for a long time and she ended up being car sick to the point of vomitting if in the car for longer that 20 min. I read that you should sit the child in the middle seat in the back to cut back on the "motion sickness" and it worked like a charm. Obviously it is to early to tell but she could have a nervous stomach.
