Ebay. Or if you want to drive to Chicago Belmont and Central area.
There are a couple of stores on Belmont West of Central. They are bridal stores that sell all kinds of stuff for kids, really cute stuff.
Does anyone know of any stores and/or websites that carry "fancy" newborn gowns or dresses? I am having a baby in 8 weeks and my brother is getting married 2 weeks later. My husband, first child and I are all in the wedding but my sister in law wants the baby to be in the wedding pictures. I want to find something really nice but am not having any luck. Any suggestions?

I have had good luck on Ebay. Everything I have purchased has been in great shape, looking brand new, and from better brands.
why don't you look for a baptism gown? You can find a lot of them at babies r us.
Check out the baptism gowns if whiteor ivory is ok.
I got my son's christening gown at Baby Beau & Belle (online). They have the most beautiful special occasion outfits. Here's a link to there website.

Check it out. I searched forever before I found this site and this will be the first place I look in the future for any special occasion.
I love "New Wave Kids" at Stratford Mall. They have the cutest fancy stuff and not horribly expensive (especially if you shop the clearance rack!).
I wonder if you google christening gowns if it would be something that you would want? I looked at JC Penneys website and they have some gorgeous things...but of course they are all going to be white because christening gowns are traditionally white...would that be a problem with the bride??
Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl because you would not want to put a little boy in one of the gowns I saw on the website...I don't think!!
They are just so sweet and feminine!!
This website http://www.christeningshop.com/?source=msadcenter&kwi...
has some cute little outfits that are made for boys too.
I don't know if this is what you have in mind or not.
Good luck and congratulations on your new little one!!
Janie and Jack have some really cute things :)
my first thought was a christening gown as well, if white isn't too much. burlington coat factory (i know it's surprising!) has the BEST selection for the best price.
i googled "fancy baby dresses" and came up with this website: http://www.nancyaugust.com/baby-dresses.html
there is some super cute stuff in there.
I would wait until your baby is born to avoid buying the wrong size. You may want to try places that carry baptism and christening outfits. Also, "regular" stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart and the malls will be starting to carry Christmas outfits about that time, too, being almost mid-October then. Plus, if you buy the outfit now your baby may not fit the outfit. My children were both almost 9 pounds and could use most 0-3 month outfits, but not outfits labeled "Newborn". Also, they both have long torsos and have never been able to wear one-piece outfits unless they were for the next size up (if they wore 0-3 mos, I had to get 3-6 mos in one-piece outfits). My friend's baby was born on time, but she was very small: just over 5 pounds since my friend is very tiny, so she needed very small clothes. She was able to wear her "Newborn" clothes for until she was about 6 months old. She has always been completely healthy, just tiny.
Congratulations on all of your families celebrations!
